SSC GD (General Duty) Constable Examination is conducted by Staff Selection Commission every year to recruit staff to various personnel for constable posts in CAPFs, NIA, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles etc. Now SSC has released the official notification for Constable (GD) in CAPFs, NIA, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles. The examination is conducted in different successive tiers; written test, Physical efficiency test, Physical measurement test and medical test. Here are the notification details as follows:

SSC GD 2020 Education Qualification
Candidate must have passed Matriculation or 10th class from a recognized Board or University. Candidates who have not acquired the essential educational qualification as on August 01, 2020 will not be eligible and need not apply.

SSC GD 2020 Age Limit
Age limit is 18-23 years as on August 01, 2020. Candidates should not have been born earlier than August 02, 1997 and later than August 02, 2002.

The SSC GD Constable selection process involves three stages:
1. Online Written Exam (CBT)
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
3. Physical Standard Test (PST)
The test will be objective type test constituting of 4 sections. 25 questions are to be asked each carrying 1 marks. 0.25 marks will be deducted when a question is attempted wrong.

Final Selection
The final selection will be based on the candidate’s performance in all the three phases of SSC GD Constable Exam, i.e., Computer Based Examination (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) and Detailed Medical Examination (DME). Therefore, one cannot get selected for the post of GD constable in BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, NIA and SSF or GD Rifleman in Assam Rifles, if the candidate is not physically and medically fit. So, it is advisable for the candidates to not only study hard for the exams but also keep themselves physically and mentally fit through physical exercises to clear the physical and medical tests.

SSC GD Constable 2018-19 Computer Based Exam (CBE) consisted of total 100 questions for 100 marks in the MCQ Format. Questions asked in the exam consisted of easy to moderate level questions in different subjects. Also, there was no negative marking for wrong answers.
