IBPS PO conducted in three phases, Phase I is the prelim exam that consists of a paper of objective type (multiple choice questions) and carries 100 questions. This is a screening test only to qualify for the next step and its marks will not be counted for determining their final order of merit. There will be Sectional Cut off marks for prelims exam.

Phase-3 :IBPS PO Interview - 100 Marks
Shortlisted Candidates in the main examination for IBPS-PO subsequently called for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS. Interviews to be conducted at select centers. The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in interview must not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). However, like most interviews for various examinations, the IBPS-PO interview does not have defined syllabus but candidates need to be articulate about his/her knowledge in General Awareness with special emphasis on Banking, Finance, and Economics along with his/her own qualification and work experience (if any) related questions.
