CDS (Combined Defence Service)

CDS (Combined Defense Services) is the common entrance exam to recruit unmarried male and female (including widows and divorcees who haven’t remarried) candidates in all the three spheres of the Indian defence services, i.e. Indian Military, Navy, and Air Force. As per the official notification, for Air Force Academy, “Married candidates above 25 years of age are eligible to apply but during training period they will neither be provided married accommodation nor can they live with family out of the premises.”. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is entrusted with the responsibility to conduct the CDS exam at all India level. The CDS Exam is held twice in a year in February and November for which the official notification is published in November and August respectively.

NDA(National Defence Academy) & NA (Naval Academy)

The National Defence Academy (NDA) & Naval Academy (NA) Examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission twice a year – NDA I and NDA II. NDA & NA 2019 is a national-level entrance administered to recruit the best personnel for the defence forces of India. UPSC conducts the exam in two Phases. Phase-1 is Written Test and Phase 2 is Personal Interview. The candidates who qualify in the written test will be called for the second round, i.e. SSB interview round. Those who qualify all the stages will be called for training under the National Defence Academy.

AFCAT (Air Force Common Aptitude Test)

The Air Force Common Admission Test abbreviated as AFCAT is conducted by the Indian Air Force, the world’s 4th largest Air Force. The exam is held twice a year in the month of February and August to select Class I Gazetted officers in Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical). AFCAT is a gateway for candidates, both male and female, to join the Indian Air Force as officers for both Short Service Commission in Flying Branch and Permanent Commission/Short Service Commission in Ground Duties for both Technical and Non-Technical roles.

CAPF (Central Armed Police Force)

The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) refers to the uniform nomenclature of seven security forces in India under the authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs. They are the Assam Rifles (AR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), National Security Guard (NSG), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

IAF (Indian Air Force-Group X & Y)

Indian Air Force is recruiting candidates for the post of Airmen X & Y Trade.The Indian Air Force is a coveted authority and many candidates yearn to secure a place and make a career out of it. Indian Coast Guard Exams

The Indian Coast Guard is a multi mission organization that performs defense and other real time operations at sea. Most of the candidates join Coast Guard for protecting the nation’s interest. The Indian Coast Guard jobs include both official positions and sailor positions.From time to time, the Indian Coast Guard also recruits other management candidates and graduates too. The basic criteria for each position would vary. Most of the positions would require strict medical standards involving height, weight, chest and eye sight for both men and women. Women are selected for the coast guard jobs as officers in general duty only. The selection process would be the same as that of the male candidates.. Women can serve till superannuation in Indian Coast Guard. Q. In case I make any mistake in one form can I fill another form for the registration of the exam?
Ans: Yes you can fill another form, in case you have by chance made a mistake in your current form. You have to take a different email ID for the second form as the portal does not accept another form with the same email ID. Fill it carefully and avoid any mistakes the next time.
 
Q. Do I need to inform the authority about filling up two forms?
Ans: No you there is no needs to inform the concerned authority about the fact that you have committed some mistakes in your form or you have filled up a different form. You need to fill up a new form with a different email ID.
 
Q. Will there be any problem if I fill up two forms?
Ans: No, it does not create any problem by filling two forms but authentically it is not possible that one person can take exam at two different locations on the same day. Take the correctly filled in form registration as your final one and take the exam according to the admit card generated by it rather than the wrong form.
 
Q. Is it obligatory to upload picture/signature/thumb impression?
Ans: Follow the instructions given on the form while you are filling it up. In some cases it is not obligatory to upload a digital copy of your signature or thumb impression. Though uploading a picture is required in most cases. You can upload the signature and thumb impression pictures after taking out the hard copy.
 
Q. How do I resize my photo as per the given instructions in the form?
Ans: It is obligatory to upload the picture according to the given instructions in the form. If your picture is not of the given dimensions then you need to resize it. You can do it by using the MS-Paint. Open the picture with MS-Paint. Go to ‘resize’ option on the toolbar present on top. A resize and skew box will show. In the resize part of the box, click on ‘Pixels’ option (Percentage will be automatically checked). Uncheck the ‘maintain aspect ratio’ option. Now enter the requisite pixel size.
 
Q. Is it necessary to have a colored admit card?
Ans: No, you can take a black and white printout of your admit card.
 
Q. Is it necessary to take a print of the submitted application form?
Ans: No it is not required except for Naval direct entries. You must take a print out for the record. You can refer to and right away get to know what all alternatives you chose and what all details you filled. If not possible you can take a screen shot.
 
Q. What is the age limit to take NDA?
Ans: Candidates for NDA must have completed 17 years as on the date of application.
 
Q. Can girls appear for NDA exam?
Ans: No,this exam is open for unmarried male candidates.
