Online applications are invited from Indian nationals for direct recruitment to the post of Staff Selection Commission released notification of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India. SSC Stenographer 2025 Exam Pattern is organized by SSC or Staff Selection Commission to select candidates for the post of Stenographer Grade C and the D.Staff Selection Commission of India (SSC) has been released the stenographer 2020 Official Notification for Grade C and D on 02nd October- November 2025.

The candidates should be passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
The SSC Stenographer Grade C & D 2025 examination will be conducted in 2 different levels. The first level is Grade C and D exam that comprises of MCQs and is conducted online. After this exam has been conducted, an exam to test your skill sets in various domains is conducted by SSC.
The details of computer based examination are mentioned below:

Question paper will be of Objective Type Multiple Choice only.There will be negative marking of the ¼ mark for each wrong answer. No marks would be awarded for an un-attempted question.
Skill Test in Stenography:
1. Based on the marks scored in the Computer Based Examination, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in the Skill Test for the post they have applied for.
2. The candidates will have to appear for the Skill Test in Stenography. The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English/ Hindi at the speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m) for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’. The matter will have to be transcribed on a computer. The transcription time is given below:

(ii) Candidates who opt to take the Stenography Test in Hindi will be required to learn English Stenography and vice versa after their appointment, failing which their probation may not be cleared by appointing departments. Candidates have to work as English/ Hindi stenographers as per the functional requirement of the User Office irrespective of the medium of Skill Test of candidate during the examination.
(iii) The Skill Test will be held at the Commission‟s Regional/ Sub Regional Offices or at other Centre(s) as may be decided by the Commission.
(iv) Detailed instructions, if any, regarding Skill Test will be sent by the concerned Regional/ Sub Regional Offices of the Commission to the candidates called for the Skill Test.
(v) Standard instructions regarding modality of evaluation of Skill Test is available at the Candidate‟s Corner Section on the Commission‟s website.
The revised syllabus for SSC Stenographer 2025 has released by SSC in its notification. The syllabus for SSC Stenographer is different for both the stages of examination and it is mandatory for students to know the entire syllabus in order to prepare effectively for SSC Stenographer 2025. General Awareness, General Intelligence/Reasoning and English Language are the three major sections a candidate need to proficient in for Paper-1 of SSC Stenographer 2025 Exam.
This is to be done both on computer and on paper.
In case where more than one candidate secures the equal aggregate marks in the Computer Based Examination, tie will be resolved by applying the following methods one after another:
a. Marks in Part-I (i.e. General Intelligence & Reasoning)
b. Marks in Part-II (i.e. General Awareness)
c. Date of birth, with older candidate placed higher.
d. Alphabetical order in which names of the candidates appear.

How To Download SSC Stenographer Admit Card?
The Admit card is released only for the North Western Region and other regions will be updated soon. Below are the steps to download the SSC Stenographer Admit Card:
Step 1: Visit the official website of SSC – ssc.nic.in or ssconline.nic.in.
Step 2: Click on the link on the website to download the SSC Stenographer Admit Card for your region.
Step 3: Now select Application Status from Select Status drop-down menu.
Step 4: In Select Exam Box, select “Stenographer Grade C & Grade D“.
Step 5: Now click on the “yes” button.
Step 6: Enter your Registered ID & Roll No.
Step 7: Enter your Date Of Birth.
Step 8: Click on Search Status.
Step 9: Your Admit Card status will be displayed on the screen.
