1. CONCOCT (verb) – समवेत करना
Pronunciation: kun-kokt
Meaning: make (a dish or meal) by combining various ingredients
Synonyms: prepare, put together, assemble
Usage: He concocted the most amazing dish from all sorts of leftover food.

2. SLICK (adjective, noun, verb) – कुशल; चिकना, चमकदार
Pronunciation: slik
Meaning: done or operating in an impressively smooth and efficient way; (of skin or hair) smooth and glossy; amount of a glossy or oily substance; make (one's hair) flat, smooth, and glossy by applying water, oil, or gel to it
Synonyms: efficient, polished; shiny, glossy, shining; smooth, sleek, flatten, oil, gel
Antonyms: amateurish, clumsy, inexpert
Usage:

  • The dancers gave a very slick performance. (adjective)
  • The oil slick seriously threatens marine life around the islands. (noun)
  • Rain slicked the roads. (verb)

3. REVAMP (verb, noun) – सुधार
Pronunciation: ree-vamp
Meaning: give new and improved form, structure, or appearance to; an act of improving the form, structure, or appearance of something
Synonyms: renovate, redecorate, refurbish, recondition, rehabilitate, rebuild, reconstruct, overhaul, make over
Usage:

  • The attempt to revamp the museum's image remained successful. (verb)
  • The revamp includes replacing the old navy uniform with a crisp blue and white cotton outfit. (noun)

4. PREVARICATE (verb) – टालमटोल करना
Pronunciation: pri-veri-keit
Meaning: to avoid telling the truth or saying exactly what you think
Synonyms: beat about the bush, hedge, fence, shilly-shally, shuffle
Antonyms: affirm, asseverate, maintain, reiterate
Usage: He seemed to prevaricate when journalists asked questions.

5. AVARICIOUS (adjective) – लालची
Pronunciation:
avur-ishus
Meaning: having or showing an extreme greed for wealth or material gain
Synonyms: grasping, acquisitive, covetous, greedy, rapacious, mercenary
Antonym: generous
Usage: He sacrificed his own career so that his avaricious brother could succeed.

6. OBVIATE (verb) – दूर करना
Pronunciation: ob-vi-eit
Meaning: remove (a need or difficulty)
Synonyms: preclude, prevent, remove, get rid of, do away with, get round, eliminate
Usage: The presence of Cellular phones obviated the need for televisions.

7. BREATHER (noun) – विश्राम
Pronunciation: bree-der
Meaning: a brief pause for rest
Synonyms: break, rest, pause, interval, respite
Usage: The weekend will give me a slight breather.

8. AFFIRM (verb) – दृढ़ता से कहना
Pronunciation: ufirm
Meaning: state emphatically or publicly
Synonyms: declare, state, assert, aver, proclaim, pronounce
Antonym: deny
Usage: I can affirm that no one will lose their job.

9. GAFFE (noun) – चूक
Pronunciation: gaf
Meaning: an unintentional act or remark causing embarrassment to its originator
Synonyms: blunder, mistake, error, slip, indiscretion, impropriety
Usage: He didn't realize what a gaffe he had made.

10. DEVISE (verb) – चिंतन करना, ईजाद करना
Pronunciation: di-vaiz
Meaning: plan or invent (a complex procedure, system, or mechanism) by careful thought
Synonyms: conceive, think up, work out, formulate
Usage: You must take time to devise a scheme that suits your own needs.
