2. CAPTIOUS (adjective) – अवगुण ढूंढ़नेवाला, नुकताचीन

Antonyms: forgiving, easy-going

3. FLIPPANCY (noun) – ओछापन, बेअदबी
Pronunciation: flip(u)nsi
Meaning: a manner that lacks respect or seriousness
Synonyms: levity, superficiality, shallowness, insouciance
Antonyms: seriousness, respect
Usage: Tired of his flippancy, the woman decided to divorce her childish husband.
4. OBLOQUY (noun) – निन्दोक्ति, दुर्वचन
Pronunciation: ob-lukwi
Meaning: very strong criticism or blame aimed at a person or thing by public; disgrace (brought about by public condemnation)
Synonyms: vilification, opprobrium, vituperation, condemnation; disgrace, dishonour, shame, discredit, stigma, humiliation
Antonyms: praise, commendation
Usage:
- Obloquy could not make him doubt the correctness or the value of his decision.
- The soccer team went home to obloquy after losing the finals because of stupid mistakes.
5. OBDURATE (adjective) – ज़िद्दी, कठोर, कट्टर
Pronunciation: ob-dyu-rut
Meaning: stubbornly refusing to change one's opinion or course of action
Synonyms: stubborn, obstinate, unyielding, unbending, inflexible, intransigent, implacable, pig-headed, bull-headed, mulish, stiff-necked
Antonyms: amenable, compliant, malleable, tractable
Usage: The protestors were obdurate and did not move even when the police arrived.
6. OFFICIOUS (adjective) – रोबदार; तंग करनेवाला
Pronunciation: ufi-shus
Meaning: assertive of authority in a domineering way; intrusively enthusiastic in offering help or advice
Synonyms: self-important, bumptious, self-assertive, overbearing, overzealous, dictatorial, bossy, domineering, interfering, intrusive
Antonym: self-effacing
Usage:
- Our boss possesses an officious attitude.
- The librarian is an officious old man who is always trying to tell me what I should or shouldn’t be reading.
7. SHRUG (verb, noun) – कन्धा उचकाना, उपेक्षा
Pronunciation: shrug
Meaning: raise one's shoulders slightly and momentarily to express doubt, ignorance, or indifference; dismiss something as unimportant; an act or instance of shrugging one's shoulders
Synonyms: disregard, dismiss, take no notice of, ignore, set aside
Usage:
- Sam shrugged and said nothing. (verb)
- "I don't know," she said with a shrug. (noun)
- I admire the way she is able to shrug off unfair criticism. (verb)
8. SKIVE (verb) – काम करने से बचना
Pronunciation: skive
Meaning: avoid work or a duty by staying away or leaving early
Synonym: shirk, malinger, play truant, truant
Antonyms: work, toil
Usage: She always skives off early on Fridays.
9. SKIMP (verb) – कंजूसी करना
Pronunciation: skimp
Meaning: expend or use less time, money, or material on something than is necessary in an attempt to economize
Synonyms: cut corners, pinch pennies
Antonyms: squander, lavish
Usage: She had to skimp to send her son to college.
10. CAPACIOUS (adjective) – प्रसृत, विशाल
Pronunciation: kup-ei-shus
Meaning: having a lot of space inside

Antonyms: cramped, small
Usage: The van was capacious and he decided to fill up the space with a couple of sacks of fuel.
