1. DOLDRUMS (noun) – विकासहीनता; उदासी
Pronunciation:
dol-drumz
Meaning: unsuccessful or showing no activity or development; a state or period of depression
Synonyms: depression, melancholy, gloom
Antonyms: happiness, busy, lively
Usage: The property market has been in the doldrums for months.

2. SUPERFLUITY (noun) – अधिकता
Pronunciation: sooper-floo-iti
Meaning: an unnecessarily or excessively large amount or number of something
Synonyms: surplus, excess, overabundance, glut
Antonyms: lack, shortage
Usage: There is also a superfluity of stop signals.

3. MARAUDER (noun) – लूटेरा, डाकू

Meaning: an unpleasant and dangerous person who wanders around looking for opportunities to steal or kill

Usage: They were raided by roaming bands of marauders.

Meaning: immoral or unfair behaviour
Synonyms: wickedness, immorality, impropriety, vice, evil, sin, villainy, crime
Antonyms: goodness, virtue

5. DOLOROUS (adjective) – कष्टजनक, दु:खद

Meaning: feeling or expressing great sorrow or distress
Synonyms: mournful, woeful, doleful, sorrowful, sad, unhappy
Antonym: cheerful
Usage: At the funeral, the dolorous widow could not stop crying.

6. MEPHITIC (adjective) – बदबूदार
Pronunciation: mifi-tik
Meaning: (especially of a gas or vapour) foul-smelling
Synonyms: evil-smelling, fetid, smelly, stinking, reeking
Antonym: fragrant
Usage: Burning trash produced a mephitic odour that was extremely foul.

7. DICEY (adjective) – अप्रत्याशित, संकटमय
Pronunciation: dai-si
Meaning: unpredictable and potentially dangerous
Synonyms: risky, uncertain, unpredictable, precarious, unsafe
Antonyms: safe, simple
Usage: The future looks pretty dicey for small businesses.

8. FORESIGHT (noun) – पूर्वदृष्टि, पूर्वज्ञान
Pronunciation: fo-sait
Meaning: the ability to predict what will happen or be needed in the future
Synonyms: forethought, anticipation
Antonym: hindsight
Usage: They had the foresight to invest in new technology.

9. EUPHONIOUS (adjective) – श्रुतिमधुर, सुरीला
Pronunciation: yu-fo-ni-us
Meaning: (of sound, especially speech) pleasing to the ear
Synonyms: pleasant-sounding, sweet-sounding, mellow, mellifluous, dulcet
Antonym: cacophonous
Usage: He was mesmerised with the euphonious music.

10. RUFFIAN (noun) – बदमाश, गुण्डा
Pronunciation: rufi-un
Meaning: a violent person, especially one involved in crime
Synonyms: thug, roughneck, scoundrel, villain, rogue
Usage: The ruffian was frequently visited by members of the law enforcement community.
