1. BOG (verb) – दलदल में फंसना
Pronunciation: bog
Meaning: be or become stuck in mud or wet ground; be prevented from making progress in a task or activity
Synonyms: mire, stick, trap, entangle, ensnare, embroil
Usage:

  • Your car will bog down in the mud.
  • You must not get bogged down in detail.

2. DISAVOW (verb) – अस्वीकार करना
Pronunciation: dis-avu
Meaning: deny any responsibility or support for
Synonyms: deny, disclaim, disown, reject, repudiate
Antonyms: acknowledge, advocate, assert, avow, cherish, claim
Usage: They were quick to disavow the rumour.

3. SAVVY (noun, adjective, verb) – कुशाग्रता; समझना
Pronunciation: savi
Meaning: the ability to make good judgements; well informed about or experienced in a particular domain; know or understand
Synonyms: shrewdness, sharpness, acumen, acuity; shrewd, astute, sharp-witted, sharp, acute; realize, understand, comprehend, grasp
Antonyms: inexperience, ignorance; stupid, gullible
Usage:

  • He has got a lot of political savvy. (noun)
  • Your help desk agent should be savvy about all the features of your company’s software. (adjective)
  • Charley would savvy what to do. (verb)

4. DETRACTOR (noun) – समीक्षक
Pronunciation: di-trak-tuh
Meaning: someone who criticizes something or someone, often unfairly
Synonyms: critic, disparager, denigrator, deprecator, belittler
Antonyms: proponent, supporter
Usage: This performance will silence many of his detractors.

5. MAGNANIMOUS (adjective) – उदारचरित
Pronunciation: mag-nani-mus
Meaning: generous or forgiving, especially towards a rival or less powerful person
Synonyms: generous, charitable, benevolent, beneficent, open-handed
Antonyms: mean-spirited, selfish
Usage: She should be magnanimous in her victory.

6. CONCILIATORY (adjective) – शांत करनेवाला
Pronunciation: kun-sili-uturi
Meaning: showing willingness to end a disagreement, or trying to make someone less angry
Synonyms: placatory, appeasing, pacifying, pacific, mollifying
Antonym: antagonistic
Usage: The United Nations has a conciliatory role in handling disputes between countries.

7. PERIL (noun) – जोखिम
Pronunciation: peril
Meaning: serious and immediate danger
Synonyms: danger, jeopardy, risk, hazard, insecurity
Antonyms: safety, security
Usage: I never felt that my life was in peril.

8. DEPORTMENT (noun) – व्यवहार, चाल-ढाल, तौर-तरीका
Pronunciation: di-po-tmunt
Meaning: the way a person stands and walks, particularly as an element of etiquette; a person's behaviour or manners
Synonyms: gait, posture, carriage, comportment, bearing; behaviour, conduct
Usage: The homeless woman always held her head high and walked with the deportment of a princess.

9. IMMACULATE (adjective) – स्वच्छ; निष्कलंक
Pronunciation: im-akyu-lut
Meaning: perfectly clean, neat, or tidy; free from flaws or mistakes
Synonyms: clean, spotless, pristine, unsoiled; unblemished, pure, impeccable, unsullied
Antonyms: dirty, grubby, bad, damaged; blameworthy
Usage: Her apartment was immaculate.

10. CHARY (adjective) – सावधान, होशियार
Pronunciation: che-ri
Meaning: cautiously or suspiciously reluctant to do something
Synonyms: wary, cautious, circumspect, heedful, careful
Antonym: heedless
Usage: She is chary of lending money.
