1. ROCOCO (adjective) – बहुत अधिक सजा हुआ
Pronunciation: ruk-oko
Meaning: relating to the very decorated and detailed style in buildings, art, furniture, and writing etc.
Synonyms: ornate, fancy, very elaborate, curlicued, over-elaborate
Antonyms: plain, simple
Usage: The rococo decoration inside the palace is delightful.

2. FABRICATE (verb) – जालसाज़ी करना; निर्माण करना
Pronunciation: fabri-keit
Meaning: invent (something) in order to deceive; construct or manufacture (an industrial product)
Synonyms: forge, falsify, fake, counterfeit; make, create, manufacture, produce
Antonyms: destroy, dismantle
Usage:

  • As a makeup artist, my job is to fabricate an illusion of beauty to cover a person’s blemishes.
  • At their small workshop, they fabricate parts for jet engines.

3. COSMOPOLITAN (adjective, noun) – सर्वदेशीय, विश्ववादी
Pronunciation: kozmuh-polit(u)n
Meaning: including people from many different countries; familiar with and at ease in many different countries and cultures; a cosmopolitan person; a plant or animal found all over the world
Synonyms: international, multiracial, worldwide, global, universal; worldly, worldly-wise, well travelled, knowing, aware
Antonyms: provincial, narrow, unsophisticated
Usage:

  • London has always been a cosmopolitan city. (adjective)
  • His knowledge of French, Italian, and Spanish made him genuinely cosmopolitan. (adjective)
  • Cosmopolitans who spoke both Spanish and English are invited to the seminar. (noun)

4. DITHER (verb, noun) – दुविधा में पड़ना; झिझकना
Pronunciation: dithuh
Meaning: to be unable to make a decision about doing something; to be very nervous, excited, or confused about something
Synonyms: hesitate, falter, waver, teeter, vacillate, oscillate
Antonyms: decide, resolve, resolution
Usage:

  • Stop dithering and choose which one you want. (verb)
  • Jordan is in a bit of a dither about what to wear for the interview. (noun)

5. SCOOT (verb) – भागना, दौड़ना
Pronunciation: skoot
Meaning: go or leave somewhere quickly
Synonyms: dash, dart, run, sprint, race, rush, hurry, hasten
Antonyms: amble, stroll
Usage: I am getting late; I must scoot now.

6. UPROOT (verb) – जड़ से उखाड़ना; उन्मूलन
Pronunciation: up-root
Meaning: pull (something, especially a tree or plant) out of the ground; remove or destroy completely
Synonyms: pull up, take out, deracinate; eradicate, eliminate, remove
Antonyms: plant, establish
Usage:

  • Elephants can uproot even a tree.
  • We must uproot our bad habits.

7. STREW (verb) – बिखेरना, फैलाना
Pronunciation:
stroo
Meaning: scatter or spread (things) untidily over a surface or area
Synonyms: disperse, distribute, litter, sprinkle
Antonym: gather
Usage: Their custom is to strew flowers over the graves.

8. PARIAH (noun) – जातिच्युत मनुष्य
Pronunciation:
puh-rai-uh
Meaning: a person who is not accepted by a social group, especially because he or she is not liked, respected, or trusted
Synonyms: outcast, persona non grata, leper, reject, untouchable, undesirable, unperson
Usage: The man came to our country because he was treated as a pariah in his homeland.

9. REPUDIATION (noun) – प्रत्याख्यान
Pronunciation: ri-pyoo-di-eish(u)n
Meaning: rejection of a proposal or idea; refusal to fulfil or discharge an agreement, obligation, or debt
Synonyms: rejection, renunciation, abandonment, forsaking, forswearing
Antonyms: confirmation, acknowledgement, ratification, acceptance
Usage: They were surprised by his sudden repudiation of all his former beliefs.

10. STRENUOUS (adjective) – श्रमसाध्य
Pronunciation: stren-yu-us
Meaning: requiring or using great effort or exertion
Synonyms: arduous, difficult, hard, tough, taxing, demanding, exacting
Antonyms: easy, effortless, half-hearted, feeble
Usage: Avoid strenuous exercise immediately after a meal.
