1. BLITHE (adjective) – पुलकित, अल्हड़
Pronunciation: bla-ith
Meaning: happy or carefree
Synonyms: happy, cheerful, cheery, light-hearted, jolly, merry, sunny
Antonym: sad
Usage: She shows a blithe disregard for danger.

2. BEAMING (adjective) – मुस्कुराता हुआ
Pronunciation: beem-ing
Meaning: smiling broadly
Synonyms: grinning, twinkling, smiling
Antonym: frowning
Usage: She was beaming with pleasure.

3. BUOYANT (adjective) – प्रसन्नचित्त, आशावान
Pronunciation: boi-unt
Meaning: cheerful; hopeful and confident about the future; (of an economy, business, or market) involving or engaged in much successful trade or activity
Synonyms: cheery, happy, light-hearted; booming, strong, vigorous, burgeoning, thriving, growing
Antonyms: depressed, pessimistic
Usage:

  • Phil was in buoyant mood.
  • Car sales were buoyant.

4. DROLL (adjective) – विनोदपूर्ण
Pronunciation: dro-l
Meaning: humorous or amusing, especially in an unusual way
Synonyms: mirthful, chucklesome
Antonym: serious
Usage: There was a droll expression on his face.

5. ELATION (noun) – उत्साह, प्रफुल्लता
Pronunciation: ilei-shun
Meaning: great happiness and exhilaration
Synonyms: happiness, exhilaration, joy, delight, glee
Antonym: misery
Usage: Her moods oscillated between depression and elation.

 
6. GRATIFY (verb)
– प्रसन्न करना, सन्तुष्ट करना
Pronunciation: grati-fai
Meaning: give someone pleasure or satisfaction
Synonyms: please, gladden, delight, satisfy
Antonym: displease
Usage: Your good marks gratify me very much.

7. JOCULAR (adjective) – परिहासशील
Pronunciation: jok-yu-lur
Meaning: fond of or characterized by joking
Synonyms: funny, witty, comic, comical
Antonyms: solemn, serious, earnest
Usage: Her jocular personality always made the customers smile.

8. CHORTLE (verb, noun) – मुंह दबाकर हंसना
Pronunciation:
cho-t(u)l
Meaning: joyful laugh (not loud)
Synonyms: laugh, giggle, titter, tee-hee, snigger, guffaw, cackle, crow
Antonym: sob
Usage:

  • He chortled at his own joke. (verb)
  • Thomas gave a chortle at my joke. (noun)

9. BADINAGE (noun) – परिहास
Pronunciation: bad-inaaj
Meaning: humorous or witty conversation
Synonyms: banter, repartee, bantering, raillery
Usage: He developed a nice line in badinage with the labour leader.

10. PERKY (adjective) – फुर्तीला, प्रफुल्लित
Pronunciation: pur-ki
Meaning: showing a lot of energy in a happy and confident way
Synonyms: lively, vivacious, animated, bubbly, effervescent, bouncy, bouncing, spirited, high-spirited
Antonyms: dull, lethargic
Usage: You look very perky this morning.
