1. RAVAGE (verb, noun) – नाश करना; बरबादी
Pronunciation: rav-ij
Meaning: cause severe and extensive damage; the destructive effects of something; acts of destruction
Synonyms: devastate, ruin, destroy; destruction, damage, devastation
Usage:
  • The hurricane will ravage the city. (verb)
  • Her looks had not survived the ravages of time. (noun)
  • The ravages of the fire showed in the splintered woodwork and blistered paint of the houses. (noun)
2. DESPAIR (noun, verb) आशाहीन्ता; नाउम्मीद हो जाना
Pronunciation: di-spe
Meaning: the complete loss or absence of hope; lose or be without hope
Synonyms: hopelessness, desperation, distress, anguish, pain; give up, lose heart, quit, surrender
Antonyms: hope, joy; cheerful, optimistic
Usage:
  • The book describes a spiritual journey from despair to happiness. (noun)
  • We should not despair. (verb)
 
3. TUG (verb, noun) बल से खींचना; खिंचाव
Pronunciation: tug
Meaning: pull something hard or suddenly; a hard or sudden pull
Synonyms: pull, pluck, tweak, twitch, jerk
Usage:
  • Tug the drawer and it will open. (verb)
  • She removed the bandage with a sharp tug. (noun)
 
4. SPATE (noun) अनुक्रमण, सिलसिला; बाढ़
Pronunciation: speit
Meaning: a large number of similar things coming in quick succession; a sudden flood in a river
Synonyms: series, succession, outbreak; inundation, swamping, deluge, torrent
Usage:
  • There has been a spate of robberies in the area recently.
  • After heavy rain, the river was in spate.
 
5. PATRON (noun) धन लगाने वाला, प्रतिपालक, समर्थक; नियमित ग्राहक
Pronunciation: peit-run
Meaning: a person who gives financial or other support to a person, organization, or cause; a customer of a shop, restaurant, etc., especially a regular one
Synonyms: sponsor, backer, financier, underwriter, guarantor; customer, client, frequenter, shopper, buyer, purchaser
Usage:
  • The Princess Sophia is a well-known patron of several charities.
  • I have a regular patron who eats meatloaf at the same time every day.
6. HECKLE (verb, noun) उपहास; घृणा सूचक शब्द बोलना
Pronunciation: hek(u)l
Meaning: interrupt a public speaker with aggressive comments or abuse, a heckling comment
Synonyms: jeer, taunt, boo, disrupt, interrupt
Antonym: cheer
Usage:
  • The reporter wanted to heckle the candidate with those embarrassing questions. (verb)

7. MEDDLESOME (adjective) हस्तक्षेपी
Pronunciation: med(u)ls(u)m
Meaning: fond of interfering

Usage: These children are meddlesome when they're together.
 
8. LARK (noun, verb) शरारत या साहस भरा काम

Usage:

9. NECROMANCY (noun) प्रेत-विधा, काला जादू
Pronunciation: nek-ro-mansi
Meaning: the supposed practice of communicating with the dead; black magic
Synonyms: sorcery, witchcraft, wizardry, voodoo, hoodoo
Usage: My grandmother was able to converse with her dead brother through necromancy.
 
10. FICKLE (verb) चंचल, अस्थिर, अधीर
Pronunciation: fik(u)l
Meaning: changing frequently, especially as regards one's loyalties or affections
Synonyms: capricious, changeable, variable, volatile, mercurial, vacillating
Antonyms: constant, stable
Usage: It's the third time that he changed his mind; he is so fickle.
