1. IRASCIBLE (adjective) – चिड़चिड़ा
Pronunciation: irasib(u)l
Meaning: having or showing a tendency to be easily angered
Synonyms: irritable, quick-tempered, short-tempered, bad-tempered, ill-tempered, hot-tempered, thin-skinned, snappy, snappish
Usage: Because Charles is very irascible, you have to be mindful of what you say to him.

2. RANT (verb) – गुस्से में बहुत ज्यादा बोलना
Pronunciation: rant
Meaning: speak or shout at length in an angry way
Synonyms: hold forth, rant and rave, fulminate
Usage: As the boss began to rant, I stood up and went out.

3. GUARANTOR (noun) – प्रत्याभूतिदाता
Pronunciation: garunt-o
Meaning: a person or thing that gives or acts as a guarantee; a person or organization that provides a guarantee
Synonyms: warrantor, guarantee, underwriter, voucher, sponsor
Usage: The United Nations will act as guarantor of the peace settlement.

4. HARANGUE (noun) – भाषण
Pronunciation: hur-ang
Meaning: a lengthy and aggressive speech; lecture (someone) at length in an aggressive and critical manner
Synonyms: tirade, lecture, diatribe, homily; lecture, berate, castigate
Antonym: panegyric
Usage: The team was given the usual half-time harangue by their manager.

5. ANGUISH (noun, adjective) – पीड़ा
Pronunciation: ang-wish
Meaning: severe mental or physical pain or suffering; be extremely distressed about something
Synonyms: agony, pain, torment, torture, suffering, distress
Antonyms: happiness, contentment
Usage:

  • I was in anguish until I knew she was still alive. (noun)
  • The loss of her husband anguished her deeply. (verb)

6. UNTHINKABLE (adjective) – असंभव, नामुमकिन
Pronunciation: un-think-ub(u)l
Meaning: (of a situation or event) too unlikely or undesirable to be considered a possibility
Synonyms: likely, imaginable, plausible, desirable
Antonyms: unimaginable, inconceivable, unbelievable, incredible
Usage: The unthinkable had happened - his secret activities had been discovered by the press.

7. TENABLE (adjective) - मान्य
Pronunciation: ten-ub(u)l
Meaning: able to be maintained or defended against attack or objection
Synonyms: defensible, justifiable, sustainable, arguable, reasonable, rational
Antonyms: indefensible, untenable
Usage: This argument is simply not tenable.

8. COUNTENANCE (noun, verb) – मुखाकृति, समर्थन
Pronunciation: kauntun(u)ns
Meaning: a person's face or facial expression; admit as acceptable or possible
Synonyms: face, features, physiognomy; tolerate, permit, allow
Usage:

  • I made a fierce countenance as if I would eat him alive. (noun)
  • The school will not countenance bad behaviour. (verb)

9. REPUGNANCE (noun) – घृणा, विरुद्धता
Pronunciation: ri-pug-nuns
Meaning: intense disgust
Synonyms: revulsion, disgust, abhorrence, repulsion, loathing
Antonyms: delight, liking
Usage: He has a great repugnance to writing letters.

10. ORDINANCE (noun) – अध्यादेश, धार्मिक कृत्य
Pronunciation: o-di-nuns
Meaning: an authoritative order; a religious ceremony or act
Synonyms: edict, decree, law, injunction; rite, ritual, ceremony, sacrament, observance, service
Usage: The ordinance prohibits the sale of fireworks within city limits.
