1. PACT (noun) – संधि
Pronunciation: pakt
Meaning: a formal agreement between individuals or parties
Synonyms: agreement, treaty, protocol, deal, contract
Usage: Jade made a pact with her daughter that she would call every night while away on her business trip.

2. RAVENOUS (adjective) – बहुत भूखा
Pronunciation: rav-un(u)s
Meaning: extremely hungry; (of hunger or need) very great
Synonyms: starving, starved, famished; voracious, insatiable, ravening, gluttonous
Antonym: full
Usage: I'd been out all day and was ravenous.

3. OMINOUS (adjective) – अमंगलसूचक, अपशगुन
Pronunciation:
omi-nus
Meaning: giving the worrying impression that something bad is going to happen
Synonyms: threatening, menacing, baleful, forbidding, sinister, doomy
Antonyms: promising, auspicious, propitious
Usage: The car is making an ominous rattling sound.

4. TRENCHANT (adjective) – कटु
Pronunciation:
tren-shunt
Meaning: expressing strong criticism or forceful opinions
Synonyms: incisive, cutting, pointed, piercing, penetrating
Antonyms: woolly, vague
Usage: His trenchant views on the subject are well known.

5. BRAGGART (noun) – शेख़ीबाज़
Pronunciation:
brag-ut / brag-aat
Meaning: a person who boasts about their achievements or possessions
Synonyms: boaster, bragger, show-off, blusterer, trumpeter
Usage: Johnny was a braggart who was later proved to be a liar.

6. GRIMY (adjective) – मैला
Pronunciation: grimi
Meaning: covered with dirt ingrained on the surface of something
Synonyms: dirty, grimed, begrimed, grubby, soiled, stained, smeared
Antonym: clean
Usage: His clothes were grimy and bloodstained.

7. PACIFISM (noun) – शांतिवादिता
Pronunciation: pasi-fiz(u)m
Meaning: the belief that war and violence are unjustifiable and that all disputes should be settled by peaceful means
Synonyms: peacemaking, non-violence
Usage: Our father of nation, Mahatma Gandhi, believed in pacifism.

8. RAPACIOUS (adjective) – अति लालची
Pronunciation: rup-ei-shus
Meaning: aggressively greedy
Synonyms: grasping, greedy, avaricious, acquisitive, covetous
Antonym: generous
Usage: Because of its rapacious appetite, the shark is often considered to be more of an eating machine than a living creature.

9. STOLID (adjective) – आवेगहीन
Pronunciation: stolid
Meaning: calm, dependable, and showing little emotion or animation
Synonyms: impassive, phlegmatic, unemotional, calm, placid, unexcitable
Antonyms: emotional, lively, imaginative
Usage: Eliza got up and came out of the room with a stolid face.

10. GARBLE (verb) – विकृत करना
Pronunciation:
gaa-b(u)l
Meaning: reproduce (a message, sound, or transmission) in a confused and distorted way
Synonyms: mix up, muddle, jumble
Usage: He left a rather garbled message on a paper.
