1. LAMENT (noun, verb) शोक, विलाप करना
Pronunciation: lum-ent
Meaning: a passionate expression of grief or sorrow; express regret or disappointment about something
Synonyms: wail, wailing, lamentation, moan, moaning, groan; mourn, sorrow
Antonyms: celebrate, rejoice
Usage:
  • This song is a lament for a dead person. (noun)
  • A gathering of family and friends lamented the deaths of the two pilots. (verb)

2. ACQUAINT (verb) – परिचय कराना
Pronunciation: ak-weint
Meaning: make someone aware of or familiar with
Synonyms: familiarize
Antonyms: unfamiliar, ignorant
Usage: I want to acquaint myself with your strengths and weaknesses.
 
3. VANDALIZE (verb) – क्षति पहुंचाना
Pronunciation: vandul-aiz
Meaning: deliberately destroy or damage (public or private property)
Synonyms: ruin, wreck, destroy
Usage: When I came back, my car had been vandalized.
 
4. MODICUM (noun) – अल्पांश
Pronunciation: modikum
Meaning: a small quantity of a particular thing, especially something desirable or valuable
Synonyms: particle, degree, speck, fragment, scrap, crumb, grain, morsel
Usage: There's not even a modicum of truth in her statement.
5. FLABBERGAST (verb) – हैरत में डालना
Pronunciation: flaber-gaast
Meaning: surprise (someone) greatly
Synonyms: astonish, astound, amaze, surprise, startle, shock
Usage: Studio executives were flabbergasted at the film’s extraordinary success.
 
6. VANGUARD (verb) – अग्र-दल
Pronunciation: van-gaad
Meaning: a group of people leading the way in new developments or ideas
Synonyms: forefront, van, advance guard
Antonyms: rear, followers
Usage: The shop has always been in the vanguard of London fashion trends.
 
7. SANGUINE (adjective) आशावादी
Pronunciation: sangwin
Meaning: optimistic or positive, especially in an apparently bad or difficult situation
Synonyms: optimistic, hopeful, buoyant, positive, confident
Antonym: pessimistic, gloomy
Usage: He's remarkably sanguine about the problems involved.
 
8. ACQUIESCE (verb) – चुपचाप स्वीकार करना
Pronunciation: akwi-es
Meaning: accept something reluctantly but without protest
Synonyms: permit, allow, accept
Antonym: fo-bid
Usage: Her parents will never acquiesce in such an unsuitable marriage.
 
9. EVANGELIZE (verb) – ईसाई बनाना
Pronunciation: ivan-jal-aiz
Meaning: convert or seek to convert (someone) to Christianity
Synonyms: convert, proselytize
Usage: Some small groups have been evangelized by Protestant missionaries.
 
10. TORMENT (noun, verb) – यातना, तड़पाना
Pronunciation: to-ment
Meaning: severe physical or mental suffering; cause to experience severe mental or physical suffering
Synonyms: agony, suffering, torture, pain, anguish, misery, distress, affliction; afflict, harrow, agonize
Antonyms: pleasure, joy; encourage, support
Usage:
  • She has suffered great mental torment. (noun)
  • He was tormented by feelings of insecurity. (verb)
