1. SIMPLISTIC (adjective) – साधारण
Pronunciation: sim-plistik
Meaning: treating complex issues and problems as if they were much simpler than they really are
Synonyms: facile, superficial, oversimple, oversimplified, schematic
Usage: This is a very simplistic approach to the problem.

2. PECUNIARY (adjective) – धन संबंधी
Pronunciation: pik-yoo-ni-uri
Meaning: relating to or consisting of money
Synonyms: financial, monetary, money, fiscal, economic, capital
Usage: She is so independent that she refused all pecuniary aids.

3. DECENCY (noun) – शिष्टता
Pronunciation: dee-s(u)nsi
Meaning: behaviour that conforms to accepted standards of morality or respectability
Synonyms: propriety, decorum, respectability, dignity, correctness, good form, etiquette, appropriateness
Antonyms: indecency, rudeness
Usage: At least she had the decency to apologize.

4. EXIGENCY (noun) – ज़रूरत, अत्यावश्यकता
Pronunciation: eksi-junsi
Meaning: an urgent need or demand
Synonyms: need, demand, requirement, want, necessity, essential
Usage: In the hot summer months, a bottle of water is an exigency if you are planning on running several miles.

5. QUERULOUS (adjective) – विलापी
Pronunciation: kweru-lus / kweryu-lus
Meaning: easily annoyed and complaining in a rude way like a child
Synonyms: petulant, complaining, pettish, touchy, testy, tetchy
Antonyms: uncomplaining
Usage: He became increasingly dissatisfied and querulous in his old age.

6. STRIFE (noun) – कलह, विवाद
Pronunciation: straif
Meaning: angry or bitter disagreement over fundamental issues
Synonyms: conflict, friction, discord, disagreement, dissension, variance
Antonyms: harmony, peace, cooperation
Usage: Racial strife is tearing our country apart.

7. EFFRONTERY (noun) – धृष्टता
Pronunciation: if-run-t(u)ri
Meaning: extreme rudeness without any ability to understand that your behaviour is not acceptable to other people
Synonyms: impudence, impertinence, cheek, insolence
Antonym: timidity
Usage: One juror had the effrontery to challenge the coroner's decision.

8. WHINE (verb) – कराहना
Pronunciation: wain
Meaning: give or make a long, high-pitched complaining cry or sound
Synonyms: hum, drone
Usage: The dog whined and scratched at the back door.

9. WHITTLE (verb) – छीलना, काटना
Pronunciation: wit(u)l
Meaning: carve (wood) into an object by repeatedly cutting small slices from it; reduce something in size, amount, or extent by a gradual series of steps
Synonyms: pare, shave, peel, hew, carve, shape; erode, consume, reduce, diminish, undermine
Antonyms: increase, augment
Usage:

  • He was whittling a piece of wood with a knife.
  • The shortlist of fifteen was whittled down to five.

10. INDIGENCE (noun) – निर्धनता
Pronunciation: indi-juns
Meaning: a state of extreme poverty
Synonyms: poverty, penury, impoverishment, destitution
Antonym: wealth
Usage: His indigence is sufficient punishment for his sin.
