1. FULL-BLOWN (adjective) – पूरी तरह से विकसित
Pronunciation: ful-blo-n
Meaning: fully developed
Synonyms: full-scale, full-blooded, fully fledged, complete, total, thorough, entire, full
Antonym: partial
Usage: The sudden occurrence of flu quickly spread and became a full-blown epidemic with millions all over the world struggling with the illness.
 
2. PREDILECTION (noun) – झुकाव, पूर्वाभिरुचि
Pronunciation: pree-di-lek-sh(u)n
Meaning: a preference or special liking for something; a bias in favour of something
Synonyms: liking, fondness, preference, partiality, taste, penchant, weakness, fancy, inclination
Antonyms: dislike, disinclination
Usage: Ever since she was a child, she has had a predilection for spicy food.
 
3. QUID PRO QUO (noun) – आदान प्रदान, अदला-बदली
Pronunciation: kwid-pro-kwo
Meaning: a favour or advantage granted in return for something
Synonyms: exchange, trade, trade-off, swap, switch, barter, substitute, substitution, reciprocity
Usage: Please accept the use of our cottage as quid pro quo for lending us your car.
 
4. BLARNEY (noun, verb) – ख़ुशामद; चापलूसी करना
Pronunciation: blaani
Meaning: talk which aims to charm or flatter someone; talk which aims to make someone understand something
Synonyms: blandishments, honeyed words, smooth talk, soft words, flattery, cajolery, coaxing, wheedling, compliments
Usage:
  • He gave her some blarney about why he was late. (noun)
  • She blarneys her leader with the false compliments. (verb)
5. UBIQUITOUS (adjective) – हर जगह मिलने वाला
Pronunciation: yoo-bi-kwi-tus
Meaning: present, appearing, or found everywhere
Synonyms: omnipresent, ever-present, everywhere, all-over, pervasive, all-pervasive, universal, worldwide, global, rife, prevalent
Antonyms: rare, scarce
Usage: Coffee shops are ubiquitous these days.
 
6. SHODDY (adjective) – तुच्छ; नीचे दर्जे का
Pronunciation: shodi
Meaning: badly made; badly done
Synonyms: poor-quality, inferior, second-rate, third-rate, low-grade, cheap, cheapjack, tawdry, rubbishy, trashy
Antonym: well made

Meaning: make or cause to make a loud, harsh sound
Synonyms: blast, trumpet, clamour, boom, roar, thunder, bellow, resound, honk
Antonyms: murmur, whisper
Usage:
  • The siren of ambulance was blaring on the crowded road. (verb)

8. OBLATION (noun) – आहुति, प्रसाद
Pronunciation: ub-lei-sh(u)n
Meaning: a thing presented or offered to God or a god
Synonyms: offering, sacrifice, peace offering, burnt offering, thank offering, first fruits, libation
Usage: The oblations included, in addition to the animal offering, a cake of flour and oil.
 
9. HENCHMAN (noun) – अनुगामी, अनुचर

Meaning: a faithful follower or political supporter, especially one prepared to engage in crime or violence by way of service

10. ADULATION (noun) – अत्यधिक प्रशंसा
Pronunciation: adyu-lei-sh(u)n
Meaning: excessive admiration or praise
Synonyms: hero-worship, worship, admiration, admiring, respect, lionizing, idolizing
Antonym: criticism
Usage: The band enjoys the adulation of their fans wherever they go.
