Here some exceptional English words from the newspaper ‘The Hindu’ are given with their synonyms/antonyms and usage. Hopefully, this will help you improve your vocabulary.
1. EMENDATION (noun) – अशुद्धियों को सुधारना
Pronunciation: ee-men-dei-sh(u)n
Meaning: the process of making a revision or correction to a text
Synonyms: correction, rectification, improvement
Usage: The editor performed one emendation after another on the poorly written manuscript.
2. OUTSTRIP (verb) – आगे बढ़ना, पीछे छोड़ना
Pronunciation: aut-strip
Meaning: move faster than and overtake someone else
Synonyms: outrun, outdistance, outpace, overtake, pass
Usage:

3. SNOOTY (adjective) – घमण्डी, दम्भी, गर्वीला

4. DEMARCATION (noun) – सीमा-निर्धारण, सरहदबंदी

Meaning: the action of fixing the boundary or limits of something; a dividing line
Synonyms: separation, distinction, differentiation, division, delimitation
Usage: Talks were continuing about the demarcation of the border between the two countries.
5. GAMBOL (verb, noun) – उल्लसित होना, नाचना-कूदना

Meaning: run or jump about playfully

9. DANK (adjective) – नम और ठंडा

Meaning: unpleasantly cold and slightly wet

Antonym: dry

10. RUE (verb, noun) – पछतावा करना; पछताना

Meaning: bitterly regret (something one has done or allowed to happen) and wish it undone

Usage:
