1. INTRANSIGENCE (noun) –   कटृटरता, कठोरता, हठ
Pronunciation: uhn•tran•zuh•jns
Meaning: refusal to change one's views or to agree about something
Synonyms: obstinacy, obduracy, adamancy, pertinacity, pigheadedness, self-will, stubbornness, willfulness
Antonyms: acceptance, acquiescence, flexibility, pliability
Usage: I can’t understand Rachel’s intransigence, considering that we have undeniable proof that her idea is incorrect.

2. HUBRIS (noun) – अभिमान, घमंड 
Pronunciation: hyoo•bruhs
Meaning: excessive pride or self-confidence
Synonyms: overconfidence, presumption, bighead, complacence, conceit, ego, pomposity, self-admiration, self-assumption, vanity, haughtiness
Antonyms: modesty, diffidence, self-doubt, self-disgust, self-loathing, altruism, bashfulness, demureness, timidity
Usage: He was punished for his hubris.

3. INIMICAL (adjective) –  हानिकारक 
Pronunciation: uh•ni•muh•kl
Meaning: tending to obstruct or harm; unfriendly
Synonyms: harmful, injurious, detrimental, pernicious, adversary, antagonistic, antipathetic, hostile, inhospitable, jaundiced, mortal, unsympathetic
Antonyms: friendly, hospitable, nonantagonistic, nonhostile, sympathetic
Usage:  Lack of ambition is inimical to success.

4. PUERILE (adjective) –  बचकाना
Pronunciation: pyuor•rail
Meaning: behaving in a silly way, not like an adult
Synonyms: adolescent, babyish, childish, immature, infantile, jejune, juvenile, fatuous, inane 
Antonyms: adult, grown-up, mature, sensible
Usage: He was trying to give puerile excuses.

5. MAGNANIMITY (noun) – उदारता, दरियादिली, दानशीलता
Pronunciation: mag•nuh•ni•muh•tee
Meaning: kindness and generosity, especially towards an enemy or someone you have defeated
Synonyms: altruism, generosity, high-mindedness, humanitarianism, philanthropy, commiseration, benevolence, charity, clemency
Antonyms: mercilessness, reprisal, requital, retaliation, retribution, revenge, vengeance, venom, vindictiveness, virulence, vitriol
Usage: The losing team was surprised by the winners’ magnanimity when they  invited them to the after party.

6. CONDESCENDING (adjective) – दूसरों को नीचा जताने का व्यवहार
Pronunciation: kon•duh•sen•duhng
Meaning: treating someone as if you are more important or more intelligent than them
Synonyms: disdainful, patronizing, authoritarian, bossy, dominant, dominating, pontifical, impudent, assumptive, bumptious, huffy, snooty, blusterous
Antonyms: humble, lowly, modest, unarrogant, unpretentious
Usage: He has a condescending attitude towards women.

7. TANTAMOUNT (adjective) – बराबर, समान 
Pronunciation: tan•tuh•mawnt
Meaning: equal to something in value, meaning, or effect
Synonyms: akin, alike, analogous, cognate, comparable, connate, correspondent, corresponding
Antonyms: disparate, distinct, distinguishable, nonequivalent, variable
Usage: To leave a dog in a hot car is tantamount to torture.

8. INVASIVE (adjective) –  तेज़ी से फैलने वाला, आक्रामक
Pronunciation: uhn•vei•suhv
Meaning: tending to spread very quickly and undesirably or harmfully; tending to intrude on a person's thoughts or privacy
Synonyms: protruding, prying, presumptuous, invading
Antonyms: confined, defensive
Usage: They found invasive cancer during a routine examination.

9. MODICUM (noun) – थोड़ा, नाम मात्र
Pronunciation: mo•duh•km
Meaning: a small quantity of a particular thing, especially something desirable or valuable
Synonyms: morsel, shred, crumb, fragment, pinch, iota, grain
Antonyms: lot, whole, bulk
Usage: All I need is a modicum of money to pay for my basic needs.

10. POGROM (noun) – सामूहिक हत्या

Meaning: an organized massacre of a particular ethnic group, in particular that of Jews in Russia or eastern Europe
Synonyms: genocide, carnage, holocaust, slaughter, bloodshed, homicide, manslaughter, murder, slaying
