1. CLAMOUR (noun, verb) –  शोर-शराबा, चिल्लाना
Pronunciation: klam•uh
Meaning: a loud and confused noise, especially that of people shouting; (of a group of people) shout loudly and insistently
Synonyms: uproar, tumult, babel, shouting, yelling, screaming, commotion, hue and cry, pandemonium
Antonyms: silence, calm
Usage:
  • The government could not ignore the clamour against scams. (noun)
  • They clamoured their demands at the meeting. (verb)
 
2. QUACKERY (noun) –  मिथ्या चिकित्सालय, धोखे का इलाज करने का बहाना
Pronunciation: kwa•kuh•ree
Meaning: dishonest practices and claims to have special knowledge and skill in some field, typically medicine
Synonyms: deceitfulness, deception, dishonesty, imposture, misrepresentation, pretense, trickery
Antonyms: frankness, honesty, openness, reality, truthfulness
Usage: To some people, herbal medicine is quackery.

3. SPOOKY (adjective) – ख़ौफ़नाक, डरावना
Pronunciation: spoo•kee
Meaning: strange and frightening
Synonyms: eerie, sinister, ghostly, uncanny, weird, unearthly, mysterious, spine-chilling, hair-raising, petrifying
Antonyms: natural, normal, usual, unfrightening
Usage: The forest is really spooky in the dark.
 
4. PUTRID (adjective) –  बदबूदार, दुर्गन्धित, सड़ा हुआ
Pronunciation: pyoo•truhd
Meaning: decayed and having an unpleasant smell
Synonyms: contaminated, rancid, corrupt, spoiled, foul, bad
Antonyms: sweet, fresh, perfumed
Usage: The food is putrid.
 
5. OPPROBRIUM (noun) – अनादर, अपमान
Pronunciation: uh•prow•bree•uhm
Meaning: harsh criticism or censure
Synonyms: ignominy, infamy, blemish, disrespect, humiliation, obloquy, shame, stain, stigma
Antonyms:  credit, esteem, honor, pride, respect
Usage: Any country trading in illegal drugs would face international opprobrium.
 
6. UNRELENTING (adjective) – कठोर, निरन्तर
Pronunciation: uhn•ruh•len•tuhng
Meaning: extremely determined; never becoming weaker or admitting defeat
Synonyms: ceaseless, constant, continual, continuous, endless, implacable, incessant, inexorable, persistent
Antonyms: broken, ceasing, intermittent
Usage: Everyone at the office works at an unrelenting pace.
 
7. ELUCIDATE (verb) – स्पष्ट करना,  समझाना
Pronunciation: uh•loo•suh•deit
Meaning: make (something) clear; explain
Synonyms:  clear up, decode, enlighten, exemplify, explicate, expound, annotate
Antonyms: complicate, mystify, confuse, obscure, conceal, hide
Usage: Please elucidate the reasons for your action.
 
8. SUBVERSION (noun) –  विनाश, ध्वंस
Pronunciation: suhb•vuh•shn
Meaning: intending to overthrow, destroy, or undermine an established or existing system, especially a legally constituted government or a set of beliefs
Synonyms: destruction, defeat, overthrow, revolution
Antonyms: purity, honesty
Usage: He was arrested on charges of subversion for organizing the demonstration.

9. DEFECTION (noun) – दल-बदल, पक्षपलटा
Pronunciation: duh•fek•shn
Meaning: the act of leaving a country, political party, etc. to go to another one
Synonyms: apostasy, recantation, secession, betrayal, disloyalty, rebellion, mutiny, perfidy
Antonyms: harmony, loyalty, faithfulness
Usage: Recent changes in policy have resulted in large-scale defection from the party.

10. DIDACTIC (adjective) –  शिक्षात्मक, शिक्षाप्रद
Pronunciation: di•dak•tik / dai-dak-tik
Meaning: intended to teach, or to improve morals by teaching
Synonyms: instructive, educational, educative, informative, pedagogic, enlightening, heuristic
Antonym: uninformative
Usage: His novel has a didactic tone.
