1. CANON (noun) – कानून, नियम, सिद्धांत या कसौटी
Pronunciation: kan-un
Meaning: a general law, rule, principle, or criterion by which something is judged 
Synonyms: principle, rule, law, tenet, precept, formula, standard, convention, norm
Usage: The appointment violated the canons of fair play and equal opportunity.
 
2. RIDDLE (verb) – छेद करना
Pronunciation: rid(u)l
Meaning: make many holes in (someone or something), especially with gunshot
Synonyms: perforate, hole, pierce, penetrate, puncture, honeycomb
Usage: His car was riddled by sniper fire.
 
3. LURID (adjective) – चटकीला; सुस्पष्ट प्रस्तुतीकरण
Pronunciation: lu-urid / lyu-urid
Meaning: unpleasantly bright in colour, especially so as to create a harsh or unnatural effect; presented something in shocking and sensational terms or in a way that produces powerful feelings or strong, clear images in the mind

Usage:

Antonym: praise

Meaning: having or showing a strong or unreasoning desire for revenge
Synonyms: vengeful, revengeful, avenging, unforgiving, grudge-bearing, resentful, ill-disposed, unrelenting
Antonym: forgiving
Usage: I have no vindictive feelings about it.
 
7. REPRESSION (noun) – दबाव, रोक
Pronunciation: ri-preshun
Meaning: the action of bringing someone or something under control by force
Synonyms: suppression, quelling, quashing, subduing, crushing, squashing
Antonyms: freedom, liberty
Usage: The strict rules of the boarding school served as a repression for students.
 
8. DEFIANT (adjective) – उपेक्षापूर्ण
Pronunciation: di-fai-unt
Meaning: showing open resistance or bold disobedience
Synonyms: intransigent, resistant, obstinate, uncooperative, non-compliant, recalcitrant, confrontational
Antonyms: apologetic, cooperative
Usage: Because Gina is a defiant teenager, she is often called to the principal’s office.
 
9. KITSCH (adjective) – वाह्यशोभन
Pronunciation: kich
Meaning: considered to be in poor taste but appreciated in an ironic or knowing way
Synonyms: tawdry, showy, gimcrack, gaudy, tacky
Usage: The kitsch necklace looked cheap on the woman’s neck.
 
10. MALODOROUS (adjective) – बदबूदार, दुर्गन्धपूर्ण
Pronunciation: mal-od(u)rus
Meaning: smelling very unpleasant
Synonyms: foul-smelling, evil-smelling, fetid, smelly, stinking
Antonym: fragrant
Usage: Because the scent was so malodorous, I started to vomit.
