1. SOBERING (adjective) – गंभीर
Pronunciation: so-bur-ing
Meaning: creating a more serious or sensible mood
Synonyms: serious, alerting, severe
Antonyms: light-hearted, cheerful, jovial
Usage: The news had a sobering effect.
2. LOWBROW (adjective) – साधारण
Pronunciation: lo-brao
Meaning: not highly intellectual or cultured
Synonyms: simple, simplistic, uncultured, unsophisticated, unpretentious
Antonyms: highbrow, intellectual
Usage: I like a lowbrow action movie once in a while.
3. TRIFLE (noun, verb) – तुच्छ
Pronunciation: trai-f(u)l
Meaning: a thing of little value or importance; treat without seriousness or respect

Meaning: in a new or different way
Synonym: anew
Usage: She tore up the letter and started writing afresh.
7. EXTORTIONATE (adjective) – अत्यधिक क़ीमत
Pronunciation: iksto-sh(u)nut
Meaning: (of a price) much too high
Synonyms: exorbitant, sky-high, preposterous, immoderate, unreasonable, inordinate
Antonym: reasonable
Usage: The prices in this shop are extortionate.
8. ASHEN (adjective) – फीका, कमज़ोर
