1. seizure (noun) – अभिग्रहण
Pronunciation:
see-zer
Meaning: the action of capturing someone or something using force; the action of taking someone's property with authority
Synonyms: capture, occupation, takeover, overrunning, annexation; confiscation, impounding; convulsion, spasm, paroxysm, collapse
Antonyms: restitution, liberation, release
Usage: All of the stolen goods taken in the seizure are being stored in the police lock-up.

2. duress (noun) – अवपीड़न, बलप्रयोग
Pronunciation:
dyu-ures
Meaning: threats, violence, constraints, or other action used to coerce someone into doing something against their will or better judgement
Synonyms: coercion, compulsion, force, pressure
Antonyms: free-will, persuasion
Usage: He claimed that he signed the confession under duress.

3. transgress (verb) – उल्लंघन करना
Pronunciation:
traans-gres
Meaning: go beyond the limits of (what is morally, socially, or legally acceptable)
Synonyms: misbehave, err, lapse
Antonym: obey
Usage: If all children were taught not to transgress the rules of common decency, the world would probably be a much better place for everyone.

4. brash (adjective) – ख़ुद-एतमाद
Pronunciation:
bra-sh
Meaning: expressing oneself confidently and forcefully in a rude, noisy, or overbearing way
Synonyms: self-assertive, assertive, cocksure, arrogant, thrusting, bold
Antonyms: meek, diffident
Usage: Because Anna is so brash, she often offends people with her aggressive personality.

5. nosey (adjective) - कौतूहली
Pronunciation:
no-zi
Meaning: showing too much curiosity about other people's affairs
Synonyms: prying, inquisitive, curious, busybody, probing, spying
Usage:  I have always found her unbearably nosey.

6. segregate (verb) - अलग करना
Pronunciation:
seg-ri-geit
Meaning: set apart from the rest or from each other; isolate or divide
Synonyms: separate, set apart, keep apart, isolate, insulate
Antonym: amalgamate
Usage: Schools should not segregate children with disabilities.

7. variegated (adjective) – बहुरंगा, विचित्र
Pronunciation:
veri-ug-eitid
Meaning: exhibiting different colours, especially as irregular patches or streaks; marked by variety
Synonyms: multicoloured, particoloured, varicoloured, multicolour, many-coloured, many-hued, polychromatic, colourful, prismatic
Antonyms: plain, monochrome
Usage: This plant has beautifully variegated leaves.

8. stipulate (verb) – शर्त रखना
Pronunciation:
sti-pyu-leit
Meaning: demand or specify (a requirement), typically as part of an agreement
Synonyms: specify, demand, require
Usage: He stipulated certain conditions before their marriage.

9. emasculate (verb) – प्रभावहीन/शक्तिहीन करना
Pronunciation:
im-as-kyu-leit
Meaning: make (someone or something) weaker or less effective
Synonyms: weaken, debilitate, enfeeble, enervate, dilute, erode, undermine, impoverish, cripple
Antonym: strengthen
Usage: The company tried to emasculate the unions.

10. eclectic (adjective) – विस्तृत
Pronunciation:
ik-lek-tik
Meaning: deriving ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources
Synonyms: wide, broad, broad-ranging, broad-based, extensive, comprehensive, encyclopedic
Antonyms: narrow, dogmatic
Usage: He has an eclectic taste in music.
