1. NITPICKING (noun) – सूक्ष्मावधानी
Pronunciation: nit-piking
Meaning: giving too much attention to details that are not important, especially as a way of criticizing
Synonyms: pedantic, overscrupulous, scrupulous
Usage: If you spend less time nitpicking, you will get more work done.
 
2. JAMMY (adjective) – सौभाग्यशाली, भाग्यवान
Pronunciation: jami
Meaning: covered with, filled with, or resembling jam; lucky
Synonyms: fortunate, blessed
Antonyms: unlucky, unfortunate
Usage:
  • Don't wipe your jammy fingers on the table-cloth.
  • He had not even worked hard for the exams, still he got excellent marks; how jammy he is!
3. CHUMMY (adjective) – मित्रवत, स्नेहशील
Pronunciation: chumi
Meaning: on friendly terms
Synonyms: friendly, close, familiar, affectionate
Antonyms: unfriendly, hostile, prejudiced
Usage: They're very chummy with their neighbours.
 
4. HETERODOX (adjective) – धर्म विरुद्ध, भिन्नमत
Pronunciation: hetro-doks
Meaning: not conforming with traditional standards or beliefs
Synonyms:  unorthodox, heretical, dissenting, dissident, blasphemous
Antonym: orthodox
Usage: His opinions have always been distinctly heterodox.
 
5. ODORIFEROUS (adjective) – महकवाला
Pronunciation: oduh-rifur(u)s
Meaning: having an unpleasant smell
Synonyms: foul-smelling, evil-smelling, stinking, reeking, fetid
Antonyms: sweet-smelling, aromatic
Usage:  The woman started feeling like vomiting when she smelled the scent from the odoriferous fish market.
 
6. PREPOSTEROUS (adjective) – बेहूदा, ऊटपटांग
Pronunciation: pri-post(u)rus
Meaning: contrary to reason or common sense
Synonyms: absurd, ridiculous, foolish, stupid, ludicrous, farcical
Antonyms: reasonable, sensible
Usage: It's preposterous to suggest that everything was her fault!
 
7. INVEIGH (verb) – फटकारना
Pronunciation: in-vei
Meaning: speak or write about (something) with great bitterness or opposition
Synonyms: fulminate, declaim, protest, rail, rage, remonstrate
Antonym: support
Usage: No matter how angry I get, I will not inveigh my feelings using social media.
 
8. MUDSLINGING (noun) – बदनाम करना
Pronunciation: mud-sling-ing
Meaning: the use of insults and accusations, especially unjust ones, with the aim of damaging the reputation of an opponent
Synonyms: traduce, defame, slander
Usage: There has been a lot of political mudslinging in the battle for votes.
 
9. GRUDGING (adjective) – अनिच्छुक
Pronunciation: gruj-ing
Meaning: displaying unwillingness
Synonyms: reluctant, unwilling, disinclined, forced, half-hearted, unenthusiastic, hesitant, begrudging
Antonym: eager
Usage: Oliver was grudging about accepting Wickham's innocence.
 
10. MUG (verb) – वार करना
Pronunciation: mug
Meaning: attack and rob someone in a public place
Synonyms: assault, attack, set upon, beat up, knock down, rob
Usage: He was mugged by three men.
