Meaning: eager or quick to argue, quarrel, or fight
Synonyms: combative, aggressive, antagonistic, belligerent, bellicose, warlike, quarrelsome
Antonyms: peaceable, friendly
Usage: John’s pugnacious behavior causes him to have few friends.
