1. SEVERITY (noun) तीव्रता
Pronunciation: suh·veh·ruh·tee
Meaning: the fact or condition of being severe
Synonyms: seriousness, gravity, extremity, danger, strength, intensity, ferocity
Antonyms: mildness, leniency
Usage: The severity of the injury is unknown until she is seen by the emergency room physician.
 
2. PROVIDENTIAL (adjective) भाग्यशाली, दैवी
Pronunciation: pro·vuh·den·shl
Meaning: occurring at a favourable time; opportune
Synonyms: opportune, advantageous, favourable, auspicious, propitious, lucky, fortunate
Antonyms: inopportune, unfortunate
Usage: It was providential that we missed the train that derailed.
 
3. AMBIVALENT (adjective) – उभयभावी
Pronunciation: am·bi·vuh·luhnt
Meaning: having mixed feelings or contradictory ideas about something or someone
Synonyms: equivocal, uncertain, unsure, doubtful, indecisive, inconclusive, irresolute
Antonyms: unequivocal, certain
Usage: She remained ambivalent about her marriage.
 
4. HOIST (verb) – ऊपर उठाना
Pronunciation: hoyst
Meaning: raise by means of ropes and pulleys
Synonyms: raise, jack up, lift, pull up, upraise, elevate, erect
Antonyms: lower, descent

Usage: The princess was a demure woman who hated being in the spotlight.

Meaning: cautiously; carefully
Synonyms: carefully, cautiously, gingerly, attentively, observantly, hesitantly,
timidly
Antonym: recklessly, unwarily
Usage: The hikers climbed warily up the dangerous path.
 
8. JITTERY (adjective) बेचैन

Meaning: nervous or unable to relax
Synonyms: nervous, anxious, worried, apprehensive, edgy, tense, stressed
Antonyms: relaxed, cool
Usage: I felt jittery before going on stage.
                                         
9. INSOUCIANT (adjective) लापरवाह

Meaning: showing a casual lack of concern
Synonyms: indifferent, heedless, relaxed, unconcerned, equable, carefree, unruffled
Antonyms: anxious, concerned
Usage: Since Jane is insouciant about her health, she does not bother to take her medication.
 
10. TIMOROUS (adjective) भीरू, कायर
Pronunciation: ti·muh·ruhs
Meaning: showing or suffering from nervousness or a lack of confidence
Synonyms: fearful, apprehensive, faint-hearted, trembling, quaking, cowering, weak-kneed, shy
Antonym: bold, brazen
Usage: The timorous soldier ran from his post when he saw the enemy approaching.
