SSC CHT Recruitment 2026: Notification Out
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Hindi Translators (CHT) Examination to recruit eligible candidates for Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, and Senior Translator posts in various Central Government Ministries and Departments. The SSC JHT Recruitment 2026 Notification has been released, announcing 84 vacancies. The online application process has been started on 23rd April 2026 onwards at www.ssc.gov.in along with the release of the official notification.

SSC JHT 2026 Eligibility Criteria
The aspiring candidates have to fulfil the required eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification and age limit for the posts of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, and Senior Hindi Translator.
Nationality/Citizenship
A candidate must be either:
(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Nepal, or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan, or
(iv) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.
(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Nepal, or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan, or

Educational Qualifications

AND
Recognised Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or three years of experience in translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in a Central or State Government Office, including the Government of India Undertaking.

Age Limit
The age limit of the eligible candidates must be 18 to 30 years. For the post of Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator) in CRPF, candidates’ age must be between 18 to 30 years. However, the government provides some Age Relaxation in every exam. The guidelines below are the Age Relaxation for the SSC JHT 2026 Exam.

Selection Process
The commission will select the eligible candidates based on their performance in the following four stages. To get shortlisted for Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, and Senior Translator, the candidates need to qualify in each stage.
