PPSC PCS Recruitment 2026: Notification Out
The recruitment drive is being conducted through two separate channels—Register A-II (Advertisement No. 20263) and Register C (Advertisement No. 20264). A total of 26 vacancies have been announced, including 21 posts under Register A-II and 05 posts under Register C. Candidates selected through this process will be inducted into the prestigious Punjab Civil Services (Executive Branch) cadre. The common screening examination for both categories is scheduled to be held in September/October 2026.

PPSC PCS Executive Branch 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying under Register A-II or Register C must fulfill the eligibility conditions prescribed in the recruitment rules as on 01 November 2025.
Service Requirement
  • The candidate must be a confirmed Government employee of Punjab.
  • Must have completed at least 8 years of continuous service under the Government of Punjab.
Age Limit
  • The applicant must be below 54 years of age as on 01 November 2025.
Educational Qualification
  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) from a recognized university or institution.
Punjabi Language Requirement
  • Applicants must have passed Punjabi as a subject up to Matriculation (Class 10) level or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Punjab Government.

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has announced vacancies for Punjab Civil Services (Executive Branch) under Register A-II and Register C based on requisitions received from the Department of Personnel, Government of Punjab. The post-wise vacancy distribution is provided below:​​​

​​​​Who Can Apply for Register A-II (Advt. No. 20263)?
Register A-II is open to members of Group A and Group B services of Punjab Government who are holding ministerial appointments not below the level of Senior Assistants and serving in connection with the affairs of the State of Punjab.
  • Important: Employees of Universities, Boards, Societies, PUDA, GMADA, PSPCL, PSTCL, Corporations etc. are NOT eligible.
Who Can Apply for Register-C (Advt. No. 20264)?
Register-C is open to members of Group A and Group B services of Punjab Government who are NOT covered under any of the following categories:
  • Register A-I: District Revenue Officers / Tehsildars / Naib Tehsildars
  • Register A-II: Officers/officials holding "Ministerial appointments"
  • Register A-III: Block Development & Panchayat Officers / District Development & Panchayat Officers / Assistant Excise & Taxation Commissioner / Excise & Taxation Officers
Important: Employees of Universities, Boards, Societies, PUDA, GMADA, PSPCL, PSTCL, Corporations etc. are NOT eligible.
Service Condition:The candidate must be a confirmed hand and must have completed 8 years of continuous service under the Punjab Government.

Important Notes on Fees:
  • Fee must be paid through online mode ONLY (Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI, NEFT/RTGS).
  • Fee once paid is non-refundable.
  • No change/edit will be allowed after fee submission.
  • Candidates claiming fee concession must submit a self-attested copy of the relevant certificate along with the hard copy of the application form. Failure to submit this certificate will result in forfeiture of fee concession.

The selection process for both Register A-II and Register-C consists of four stages with a total of 100 marks:

Stage 1 - Screening Test: A Common Screening Test will be conducted for both Register A-II and Register-C. However, merit lists will be prepared separately for each register. Candidates scoring a minimum of 30% marks and ranking within 3 times the number of vacancies (in merit order) will be shortlisted for the interview.
Stage 2 - Assessment of Service Records (ACRs/APARs): Last 5 years ACRs will be considered. If 5-year record is not available, the preceding year ACRs will be considered.

Stage 3 - Length of Service: Maximum 15 marks. For each completed year of service beyond the mandatory 8 years, 0.54 marks are awarded. Full 15 marks are awarded upon completing 28 years of service beyond the initial 8 years (i.e., 36 total years of service).
Stage 4 - Interview: 15 marks. The interview panel assesses the candidate's suitability based on personal qualities. Screening test marks are not disclosed to the interview panel.
Final Result: Prepared by adding 50% of screening test marks + ACR marks + Length of Service marks + Interview marks.
Documents Required for Hard Copy Submission
After submitting the online application, candidates must send the following documents through their Head of Department to PPSC Patiala by 30 July 2026:
1. Certificate from Head of Department (Annexure-A - Original): Certifying the candidate's service details, group, confirmation status, age, qualification and integrity.
2. Service Record Proforma by Head of Department (Annexure-B): Complete service record details verified and certified by the Head of Department.
3. Scrutiny Form filled by Candidate (Annexure-C): Self-declared form with personal, educational and service details.
4. Proof of Date of Birth: Matriculation/Higher Secondary certificate.
5. Graduation Degree Certificate: Copy of degree from a recognized university.
6. Punjabi Language Proof: Certificate of having passed Punjabi up to Matriculation level or equivalent.
7. Reserve Category Certificate (if applicable): Only for claiming fee concession, issued by the Competent Authority.
8. Confirmation Certificate: Proof of confirmation in Punjab Government service.
9. UDID Certificate (if applicable): Only for availing compensatory time or scribe facility as per rules.
Critical Note: Failure to submit the hard copy through proper channel by 30 July 2026 (5:00 PM) will result in outright rejection of candidature.
