The Padma Awards 2026 were announced on the eve of the 77th Republic Day (January 25, 2026). These prestigious civilian honors are conferred in three categories: Padma Vibhushan (exceptional service), Padma Bhushan (distinguished service of high order), and Padma Shri (distinguished service).
For 2026, the President of India approved the conferment of 131 Padma Awards, which include 5 Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan, and 113 Padma Shri awards. The first Civil Investiture Ceremony for these awards was held on May 25, 2026, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, where President Droupadi Murmu conferred honors upon several recipients.
