NIRF Ranking 2024

The NIRF 2024 rankings were announced on August 12 by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. IIT Madras retained the top spot in the overall category. IISc Bengaluru was ranked second, and IIT Bombay came in third. The NIRF 2024 rankings cover 16 categories. New categories this year are state universities, skill universities, and open universities. Existing categories include universities, colleges, research institutes, engineering, management, pharmacy, medical, dentistry, law, architecture and planning, agriculture, and innovation.

3 More Category Added to the List

Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education, announced the addition of three new categories to the NIRF Ranking List:

• Open University, Skill University, and State Universities.
• This expands the total number of categories from 13 to 16.

IIT Madras Dominates for 6th Consecutive Year

• IIT Madras has maintained its top position in the NIRF 2024 for the sixth consecutive year.
• IISc Bengaluru has been ranked the best university for the ninth year in a row.

IIT Bombay at 3rd  in Engineering Categories

In the 9th edition of the NIRF 2024 rankings, ITB achieved the following positions:

• 3rd in the Overall category
• 3rd in Engineering,
• 10th in Management
•  4th in Research
• 1st in the Innovation category.

NIRF Ranking 2024 Engineering Colleges
