IIFA Awards 2024
The IIFA Awards 2024, held in Abu Dhabi, celebrated Indian cinema with Shah Rukh Khan winning the Best Actor award for his role in 'Jawan'. Ranbir Kapoor's film 'Animal' topped the nominations with 11 nods and won Best Picture. What made the evening even more spectacular was Shah Rukh Khan, who co-hosted the event with Vicky Kaushal and Karan Johar. The trio electrified the stage with their performance of his hit song 'Jhoome Jo Pathaan'.

Best Director Award: Vidhu Vinod Chopra
Vidhu Vinod Chopra is an Indian film director, producer, screenwriter, and editor. He has received numerous accolades, including four National Film Awards and eleven Filmfare Awards. Chopra achieved renewed success with his 2023 biopic '12th Fail'. Although it had a modest opening day at the box office, the film garnered excellent reviews and positive word of mouth, ultimately becoming a financial success with a gross of 70 crores against a budget of 20 crores. It also won five Filmfare Awards, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Editing for Chopra. Motto of the film was "Restart!"
Outstanding Achievement in Indian Cinema
Bollywood's legendary 'Dream Girl', 'Hema Malini', was recognized with the Outstanding Achievement in Indian Cinema Award at the IIFA Awards 2024 in Abu Dhabi. "12th Fail" is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language biographical drama film directed, produced, and written by Vidhu Vinod ChopraIt awarded as the Award of Best Story, based on Anurag Pathak's 2019 non-fiction book of the same name, which tells the story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who triumphed over extreme poverty to become an Indian Police Service officer. The film features Vikrant Massey in the role of Sharma, alongside Medha Shankr, Anant V. Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee. Motto of the film was "Restart!"

Shah Rukh Khan, also known by the initialism SRK, is an Indian actor and film producer, widely recognized for his work in Hindi cinema honoured by Best Actor Award. Often referred to as the "Baadshah of Bollywood" and "King Khan" by the media, he is one of the industry's most iconic figures. 'Jawan' is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language action thriller, co-written and directed by Atlee in his Hindi directorial debut. Produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment, the film stars Shah Rukh Khan alongside Nayanthara (in her Hindi film debut), Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Priyamani, and Sanya Malhotra.
Best Actress (Female)
Rani Mukerji has won multiple Best Actress awards throughout her career, including prestigious accolades like the Filmfare Award for Best Actress (Female). She has received numerous accolades, including eight Filmfare Awards. In 2023, she starred in 'Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway', a Hindi-language legal drama directed and written by Ashima Chibber. The film also features Anirban Bhattacharya, Neena Gupta, and Jim Sarbh in key roles. The film is inspired by the real-life story of Anurup Bhattacharya and Sagarika Chakraborty.
