IBPS Clerk Selection Process 2026:
There is no interview in the IBPS Clerk exam; hence only two stages are there: Prelims and Mains. Both are objective-type papers, and passing with cut-off marks is essential.
IBPS Clerk Prelims Pattern
  • Mode of Exam: Online (Computer-Based Test)
  • Duration: 60 minutes (1 hour)
  • Total Questions: 100 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Maximum Marks: 100
  • Marking Scheme: 1 mark for each correct answer
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for every incorrect answer

Candidates will have to attempt 100 objective questions carrying 100 marks within 60 minutes, with separate sectional timing.

IBPS Clerk Mains Pattern (Revised)

  • Mode of Exam: Online (Computer-Based Test)

  • Total Questions: 160 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Maximum Marks: 200
  • Sectional Timing: Separate time limit allotted for each section
  • Marking Scheme: 1 mark for each correct answer (as per the prescribed marks)
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for every incorrect answer
IBPS Clerk Mains Exam will now consist of 160 questions for 200 marks that need to be completed in a time frame of 125 minutes.
The IBPS CSA (Clerk) Mains Examination has undergone a significant change this year. The total number of questions has been increased from 155 to 160, while the overall examination duration has been extended from 120 minutes to 125 minutes. Additionally, the Quantitative Aptitude section now consists of 40 questions instead of 35.
