• The board of directors of Bandhan Bank has appointed Ratan Kumar Kesh as Executive Director of the bank effective March 31, 2023, for a period of three years subject to the approval of shareholders.
• Pursuant to the recommendation of the Board, the Reserve Bank of India granted approval for the appointment of Ratan Kumar Kesh as ED. On the basis of the recommendation of the NRC and approval of RBI, the Board, at its meeting held on March 21, 2023, has approved the appointment of Ratan Kumar Kesh as whole-time Director of the bank, designated as Executive Director, with effect from March 31, 2023, for a period of three years, subject to the approval of shareholders,” reads a notification issued by the bank to stock exchanges.

• India’s first PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park for the textile industry was launched at E. Kumaralingapuram in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu.
• With an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) inked between the State and the Center, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Shri MK Stalin and Union Textiles Minister Shri Piyush Goyal jointly launched the park.The PM Mitra Mega Textiles Park will give a boost to the local economy of Virudhunagar, an aspirational district in Tamil Nadu.

• 3rd Annual Edition of International SME Conference (ISC), 2023 is being held in New Delhi from 19th to 21st March.The ISC is being jointly organized by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and the Ministry of External Affairs and the India SME Forum.
• The event has the Government of Madhya Pradesh as a major partner state and the Government of Uttar Pradesh as an associate partner state.International Network of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (INSME) and the World Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (WUSME) are the International Partners for ISC 2023, and Tata AIA is the Insurance Partner.

• Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) scientists have discovered a moray eel fish of the genus Gymnothorax off the Cuddalore coast.Scientists have named it after the "Tamil Nadu brown moray eel" of Tamil Nadu whose common name is "Gymnothorax tamilnaduensis".
• Researchers from ICAR - National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources (NBFGR) conducted an exploration along the coastal waters at Parangipettai and Mudasalodai fish landing centers in Cuddalore district.

• In an industry-first, ICICI Lombard General Insurance launched ‘Anywhere Cashless’ feature for health insurance policyholders to avail cashless facilities at any hospital, even if not part of ICICI Lombard’s current network of hospitals.
• The feature will be subject to the hospital’s acceptance of the cashless facility. Policyholders must inform the company 24 hours prior to the date of admission by giving basic information about the patient, policy details, hospital name, diagnosis and treating doctor, among others.

• Karur Vysya Bank (KVB) has executed an agreement with SBI Lite, the insurance arm of State Bank of India (SBI) as an additional bancassurance partner in the life insurance category.
• Bancassurance is a relationship between a bank and an insurance company that is aimed at offering insurance products or insurance benefits to the bank’s customers.This partnership arrangement can be profitable for both companies.

• The Army and the Indian Air Force (IAF) jointly carried out a multi-domain air-land exercise in an undisclosed location close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the northeast in the second week of March.
• The exercise comes amid efforts to institutionalise tactical-level jointness between the defence forces, as a precursor to the creation of integrated theatre commands.The exercise — Vayu Prahar — was held in the eastern theatre to validate joint plans and prosecute synergised multi-domain operations, the sources said.

• Rohan Bopanna becomes the oldest player to have won the Men’s Doubles title at the ATP 2023 Series.While another Tennis player Carlos Alcaraz was honoured with the World’s No. 1 Rank in the Men’s Singles category.
• Both these great players have been awarded in the ATP Tournament 2023 series by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).He collectively won the trophy with his tennis ally Matthew Ebden of Australia.With their mutual efforts, they defeated the leading pair of Dutchman Wesley Koolhof and Briton Neal Skupski by 6-3, 2-6, 10-8 results in order to claim their Men’s Doubles title together and this was the first of its kind in the current season.

• Renowned writer, director and ad filmmaker, Pradeep Sarkar passed away in Mumbai, Maharashtra at the age of 67. His famous Bollywood movies included ‘Parineeta’, Laga Chunari Mein Daag’, Mardaani and Helicopter Eela.
• Sarkar was born in Kolkata, West Bengal on 30 April 1955.He began his career with Vinod Chopra Productions, the production company of director and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra.He produced the critically-acclaimed Parineeta, which won the acclaimed National Film Award in the Best Debut Film of a Director category.
