1. World Pharmacists Day 2022 observed on 25th September
- Notably, September 25 was chosen as the date to observe World Pharmacists Day as the International Pharmaceutical Federation was established on this day in 1912.
- According to the FIP, this year's theme is ‘Pharmacy united in action for a healthier world’. The theme was chosen with an aim to “showcase pharmacy’s positive impact on health around the world and to further strengthen solidarity among the profession”, the federation said.
2.Dilip Asbe re-appointed as MD and CEO of NPCI for five years
- The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has approved the re-appointment of Dilip Asbe as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for a period of five years with effect from January 8, 2023.
- He took charge as MD & CEO of NPCI in January 2018.
- Prior to this, he was the chief operating officer of NPCI for 5 years.
- NPCI was founded in 2008.
- It is an umbrella organisation which operates the country's retail payment and settlement systems.
3. Former hockey captain, Dilip Tirkey elected as Hockey India president
- Dilip Tirkey (former India hockey captain) was unanimously elected as Hockey India (HI) president.
- He was member of the gold medal-winning team at the 1998 Asian Games.
- He has a record 412 international matches as a defender in his career spanning more than 15 years.
- He represented India at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996, Sydney in 2000, and Athens in 2004.
- Bhola Nath Singh was elected the secretary general.
4. TerraPay, NPCI International tie-up to enable cross-border transactions
- TerraPay has partnered with NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), the international arm of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
- Reason: To allow Indian customers and merchants with an active UPI ID to make and accept cross-border payments.
- Both organisations are intend to fortify UPI payments & QR solutions to extract their maximum potential.
- The partnership will further increase the use of UPI and QR for cross-border merchant payments.

5. RailTel Corp appoints Sanjai Kumar as its MD & chairman
- Sanjai Kumar has been appointed as the Chairman & Managing Director of RailTel.
- He was currently working as director of networking, planning & marketing at the company.
- He is an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE1).
- RailTel is a "Mini Ratna (Category-I)" Central Public Sector Enterprise is an information and communications technology (ICT) provider.
- As on 30 June 2022, the Government of India holds 72.84% stake in the company.

6. Nirmala Sitharaman to launch e-learning platform Bharat Vidya
- Nirmala Sitaraman to launch the Bharat Vidya, an online platform for Oriental and South Asian Studies.
- This platform is designed and developed by the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute (BORI).
- This is a first-of-its-kind online platform that offer both free and paid courses covering various aspects of Indology about art, architecture, philosophy, language, and science.
- BORI will collaborate with Indian and Foreign universities for awarding credits for its courses.
7. UCO Bank becomes first lender to get RBI's approval for rupee trade
- UCO Bank has received the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI’s) approval to open a special vostro account with Gazprombank of Russia for trade settlement in Indian rupees.
- This is the first bank to receive RBI's approval after the RBI’s decision to allow Indian banks to settle trade in Indian currency in July.
- Gazprombank of Russia was set up by world’s largest gas producer and exporter Gazprom.
- Aim: To provide banking services for gas industry enterprises

8. Nagaland govt to launch its own health insurance scheme CMHIS
- Nagaland Government to launch its own health insurance scheme called the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) on 1st of October.
- Aim: To reduce out-of-pocket expenditure on hospital care for all bonafide citizens of the state.
- It provides free health insurance coverage of up to five lakh rupees per family per year.
- It will cover State government employees and pensioners and all the Indigenous and or Permanent residents of the State.

9. Assam to use portable device 'SAANS' to stop neonatal deaths
- The Assam government has decided to use the air pressure machine named 'SAANS'.
- 'SAANS' is a portable neonatal Continuous Positive Air Pressure (CPAP) system.
- It can provide lifesaving breathing support to infants in hospital settings as well as during travel.
- It is developed by a Bangalore-based start-up, InnAccel Technologies.
- For the development of the machine, InnAccel Technologies has joined hands with the SAMRIDH Healthcare Blended Finance Facility.

10. Oscar-winning actress, Louise Fletcher passes away
- An Oscar winning actress, Louise Fletcher has been passed away at 88 in France.
- She was awarded the Oscar in 1976 for her role as Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975).
- She was also a recipient of BAFTA Award, and a Golden Globe Award.
- She was nominated for two Emmy Awards for her roles in the television series Picket Fences (1996) and Joan of Arcadia (2004).
- Her final role was as Rosie in the Netflix series Girlboss (2017)
