1. Indian Men’s Hockey Team Won Asian Champions Trophy 2024

2.NPCI Increases UPI Transaction Limit for Tax Payments
The NPCI has stated that due to the growing popularity of UPI as a preferred payment method, there is a need to raise the per-transaction limit for specific categories within UPI. Previously, the UPI transaction limit was Rs. 1 lakh, except for specific payment categories with higher limits. It has now been decided to increase the limit for tax payments via UPI from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh per transaction.

3. Jordan’s King Appoints New Prime Minister after Parliamentary Elections
Jordan’s King Abdullah II has accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Bisher al-Khasawneh following last week’s parliamentary elections. Al-Khasawneh, a seasoned diplomat who had been in office since October 2020, resigned in accordance with the constitutional norm after legislative elections. 4. PM Modi Unveils Odisha's Flagship Scheme, Subhadra
Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi launched the scheme of “Subhadra”, flagship initiative of the State Government of Odisha designed to benefit the one crore women in the state. The scheme will assist over 1 crore women in Odisha with annual financial support of Rs. 10,000 over five years until 2028-29.

  • The Subhadra Yojana provides financial assistance to women in Odisha to promote economic independence and overall well-being.
  • It is named after Goddess Subhadra, the younger sister of Lord Jagannath, the presiding deity of Odisha.
  • The scheme involves the Odisha state government transferring Rs. 10,000 per year to eligible women beneficiaries aged 21 to 60.
  • Payments will be made in two installments of Rs. 5,000 each.

5.Bank of Baroda launches a GenAI-powered virtual relationship manager for conversational banking.
Bank of Baroda has launched ‘Aditi,’ a GenAI-powered virtual relationship manager to improve digital customer service. Aditi features human-like digital avatars that provide conversational banking across various services. The service is accessible on the bank’s web portal, supporting audio, video, and chat-based assistance for 24/7 banking with multilingual support. The rollout is being gradually implemented for existing customers through an enrollment process on the bank's website.

10. Renowned Lebanese Novelist Elias Khoury has passed away
Lebanese novelist Elias Khoury, renowned for his dedication to the Palestinian cause and his academic roles at universities worldwide, has passed away at the age of 76. He was one of Lebanon’s most prominent intellectuals.
