1. Dr Jitendra Singh launches ‘SPROUT’ Genome Facility

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated the SPROUT facility at BRIC-National Institute of Plant Genome Research (BRIC-NIPGR), New Delhi.
-
SPROUT stands for SpeedSeed Phenotyping and Resource Optimization for Unified Trait Analysis.
-
SPROUT is an indigenous, season-independent, controlled-environment facility with a major focus on chickpea research.
2. Ashwini Vaishnaw launches India’s first salt-container train

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw flagged off a salt-loaded freight train from Shivlakha GCT to Mithapur, Gujarat.

The train uses lightweight stainless-steel salt containers.
-
Shivlakha Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal (GCT) was inaugurated, while three GCTs at Bhimasar, Devaliya and Chandisar were dedicated to the nation.
3. Delhi doubles monthly incentive for ASHA workers

The Delhi Government approved doubling the fixed monthly incentive for ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers from ₹3,000 to ₹6,000.
-
ASHA Workers were introduced under NRHM (2005) and serve as a link between the community and the health system, with incentive-based payment.
-
An ASHA is a local woman, preferably aged 25–45 years and married/widowed/divorced, with preference given to women educated up to Class 10.
4. UPI Payments Up to ₹2,000 to Remain Free of MDR

The new UPI framework keeps all person-to-person (P2P) UPI transactions completely free, irrespective of the amount.

Person-to-merchant (P2M) transactions up to ₹2,000 will remain free of MDR.
-
Small merchants receiving up to ₹1 lakh per month through UPI QR codes under the P2PM category continue to enjoy zero MDR.
5.DoRD and PFRDA sign MoU, ‘Pension Sakhis’

Department of Rural Development and Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority signed an MoU to establish a community-based outreach mechanism of ‘Pension Sakhis’ across rural India.
-
Pension Sakhis are trained women/community resource persons who promote pension awareness, financial literacy and pension enrolment among rural households.
6. Yudh Abhyas 2026 begins With India-US Armies

The 22nd edition of the India-US Joint Military Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2026.
-
The opening ceremony was held at Auli Foreign Training Node, Uttarakhand.

Other major joint military and defence exercises between India and the United States include such as Vajra Prahar (Special Forces), Cope India (Air Force), Tiger Triumph (Tri-Service).
7. DFS wins First Rajbhasha Kirti Prize

The Department of Financial Services (DFS) won the First Prize under ‘Rajbhasha Kirti’ for 2025–26.
-
The award was given in the category of ministries/departments with fewer than 300 personnel.
-
The award recognises outstanding implementation and innovative achievements in Official Language Hindi.
8. India wins record eighth Women’s Asia Cup

India won the 2026 Women’s Asia Cup by defeating Sri Lanka by 72 runs in the final in Dubai.
-
India scored 183/5, while Sri Lanka were bowled out for 111 runs.
-
Shafali Verma scored 68 runs off 39 balls, while Smriti Mandhana contributed 59 runs off 39 balls in the final.
