1. Syngenta launches unique biodiversity sensor project to monitor farm insects
- Syngenta India has announced a launch of Biodiversity Sensor Project, a biodiversity
monitoring technology in association with IIT Ropar.
- Syngenta also flagged off India’s first Drone Yatra, that will travel 10,000 kms to create awareness on drone spraying among 10,000 farmers.
- The Yatra will travel to 13 states to demonstrate and educate farmers on use of drones.

2. Delhi University’s Miranda House retains top slot in NIRF college rank
- National Institute Ranking Framework, NIRF Colleges Ranking 2022 have been
released online on July 15, 2022 by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
- Miranda House outshined all colleges to get the top spot.
- Hindu College was ranked second while Presidency College was ranked third.
- Lady Shri Ram College was ranked fifth.
3. Joy Bhattacharjya appointed Dir Gen Federation of FIFS
- The Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports (FIFS) has announced the appointment of Joy
Bhattacharjya as its director general.
- Bhattacharjya is the CEO of the Prime Volleyball League and is a cricket analyst.
- The Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports (FIFS), was established to protect consumer interest and create standardised best practices in the Fantasy Sports industry.
4. Edtech startup Stemrobo partners with AIC IIT Delhi to launch tech entrepreneurship program
- STEMROBO Technologies has announced the launch of a Tech Entrepreneurship
Program in association with AIC IIT Delhi for 8-18 years of age group.
- This program is focused on embedding skills like Robotics,3D printing, the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Coding, and Blockchain.
- Students will participate in 64 hours of live online and live offline sessions
5. IIT Madras tops India Rankings 2022, IISC-Bengaluru bags second spot
- IIT Madras has emerged as the best educational institution while Indian Institute of
Science, Bengaluru is best university in India Rankings-2022 which were released by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi on 15 July 2022.
- IIM, Ahmedabad is the best management institute in the country followed by IIM, Bangalore, and IIM, Calcutta.
- AIIMS, New Delhi is the best medical college.
6. Israel sells Haifa Port to Adani Ports for $1.2 billion
- Israel sold Haifa Port, a major trade hub on its Mediterranean coast, to winning bidders
Adani Ports of India for $1.2 billion.
- Haifa Port said the new group will operate the port until 2054.
- Adani Ports, the largest transport utility in India, is targeting expansion and seeks to become the premier global port group.

7. Union Agriculture Minister Shri Tomar launches Platform of Platforms (POP) under eNAM
- Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on 14 July 2022 launched the Platform
of Platforms (POP) under the National Agriculture Market (e-NAM).
- It was launched on the sidelines of the State Agriculture and Horticulture Ministers’ Conference in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
- With the introduction of POP, farmers will be facilitated to sell the produce outside their state borders.
8. UAE to invest $2 bn to develop integrated food parks across India
- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will invest $2 bn to develop a series of integrated food
parks across India.
- This decision was announced during the first virtual summit of the ‘I2U2’ (India, Israel, US and UAE) group, held on 14 July 2022.
- The investments from UAE will help maximise crop yields and, in turn, help tackle food insecurity in South Asia & Middle East.

9. Vedanta collaborates with company started from IIT Madras
- In order to implement safety incident detection, metal and oil and gas company Vedanta
has partnered with Detect Technologies, a startup established at IIT Madras, and deployed T-Pulse HSSE Monitoring System across all of its business units. The partnership is consistent with the Vedanta Group’s objective to achieving zero harm through the implementation of AI-enabled safety monitoring of workplaces, which is a key priority in its roadmap for digital transformation.
- The solution will make use of and recognise Vedanta’s infrastructure for relaying, analysing, and reporting feeds. The module will be used to spot harmful behaviours and environments.
- The technological stack offered by T-Pulse is centralised, scalable, and intended for plug-and-play implementation.

10. RIL tie-up with Athletics Federation of India to support Indian Athlete
- Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) have
announced a long-term partnership to enable the holistic growth of athletics in India.
- This partnership aims to discover, nurture and develop Indian athletes from across the country and provide them support by leveraging RIL’s ecosystem.
- It will have a special focus on girl athletes in the country.
