1. Justice B.R. Gavai Sworn in as the 52nd CJI
Justice B.R. Gavai has been sworn in as the 52nd Chief Justice of India, marking a significant moment in the history of the Indian judiciary. His appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) following a recommendation from the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on January 10, 2025. Kalra, who has been with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) since 1995, currently serves as General Manager (Finance) at BHEL’s Corporate R&D Centre in Hyderabad.

Mujica's passing has prompted an outpouring of grief and tributes from around the world. In Montevideo, thousands gathered to honor his legacy, with a funeral procession that included his widow, Lucía Topolansky, and President Orsi, who draped the national flag over his coffin .
