2. Government lifted the Floor Price on Basmati Rice
The Indian government has abolished the $950 per tonne minimum
export price (MEP) on basmati rice in response to declining paddy prices. The Commerce Ministry has directed the Agricultural and Processed Foods Export Development Authority (Apeda) to process basmati exports without a floor price.
