1. Punjab government launched ‘CM di Yogshala’ programme in Punjab
  • Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister (CM) Mr Arvind Kejriwal and his Punjab counterpart Mr Bhagwant Mann jointly launched the ‘CM di Yogshala’ programme. It’s aim is to create a mass movement to carve out a healthy and prosperous PunjabThe initiative was initially launched for 4 cities of punjab : Patiala, Amritsar, Ludhiana, and Phagwara
  • Under this initiative, people will be able to avail free yoga classes in these 4 cities. A ‘CM di yogshala’ portal was also launched on the occasion. The formation of these Yogshalas will be under a pilot project. Trained Yoga instructors will impart free Yoga training to people in open parks and other public places.

2. Ministry of Culture promotes Indian folk arts and culture abroad through Global Engagement Scheme
  • The Ministry of Culture in India is dedicated to promoting Indian Folk Arts and Culture abroad through various initiatives. The Global Engagement Scheme is one such initiative that organizes Festivals of India in other countries to showcase the country’s rich culture, including folk art, exhibitions, dance, music, theatre, film, food festivals, and yoga events.  This scheme also highlights the diverse culture of North-East India to the world. The ministry provides grant-in-aid to Indo-Foreign Friendship Cultural Societies to organize programs and activities that promote the country’s culture across the world.
3. 196th birth anniversary of Jyotirao Govindrao Phule is celebrated on 11th April
  • Jyotirao Phule Jayanti is an annual observance in India, celebrated on April 11th every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Jyotirao Phule. Jyotirao Phule was a prominent social reformer, philosopher, and writer who played a crucial role in women’s education and the upliftment of the oppressed castes in India during the British rule. He was born on April 11, 1827, in Maharashtra, and his contributions to the Indian society and culture are celebrated on this day. life and legacy.
4. Mumbai ranks among world’s tree-rich cities 2022, second time in a row

5. Law Minister releases Dogri version of Indian Constitution
  • Union Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, released the first edition of Dogri version of the Constitution of India at University of Jammu here. Chief Justice of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court, Justice Kotishwar Singh, Senior Judges of High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Vice Chancellor, JU, Professor Umesh Rai, Secretary, Law, Achal Sethi, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Avny Lavasa, faculty members of the University, senior functionaries from the Center and J&K government were present on the occasion.Speaking during the event, the Union Minister termed this translated document very significant in dispensation of justice to common people. He maintained that understanding law.
6. Aam Aadmi Party got the status of national party
  • The Election Commission of India has granted national party status to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on 10 April 2023. Along with this, the Election Commission of India has withdrawn the status of being a national party from many political parties. While many political parties were given the status of state level party.
  • The Election Commission has withdrawn the national party status of Sharad Pawar's party NCP, CPI and Trinamool Congress (TMC). In Uttar Pradesh, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has also been withdrawn as a state party.
7. Indian Navy conducts offshore security exercise ‘Prashthan’
  • Indian Navy conducted the offshore biannual security exercise ‘Prashthan’ in the offshore development area (ODA) off Mumbai, Maharashtra. The current exercise was conducted on the Greatdrill Chaaya platform about 30 nm South West of Mumbai harbour. To validate measures and procedures to address contingencies that may occur in oil production platforms.
  • The exercise is held every six months under the aegis of the Indian Navy and involves the participation of all stakeholders in the maritime domain. This exercise is an important element of ensuring offshore security and aims to integrate the efforts of all maritime stakeholders involved in offshore defence.

8.SBI to launch new current accounts and savings accounts in FY24 to attract deposits
  • The State Bank of India (SBI) is planning to launch new variants of current account (with balances of ₹50,000 and ₹50 lakh) and “Parivar” (family) savings account in FY24 to minimise the gap between deposit growth and credit growth. The new plans come in the wake of deposit growth lagging credit growth over the last few quarters.

9. Nilesh Sambre conferred with 'Maratha Udyog Ratna 2023' by Maharashtra State

10. Indian GM Gukesh wins title at World Chess Armageddon Asia & Oceania event
  • In the World Chess Armageddon Asia & Oceania event, Indian Grandmaster D Gukesh, who is a teenager, pulled off a major upset by defeating former world rapid champion Nodirbek Abdusattorov of Uzbekistan in the final. Gukesh emerged as the winner in a thrilling summit clash that was full of ups and downs. The first game of the match ended in a draw after Gukesh employed a perpetual check strategy.
