5.Canara Bank Reportedly Invests Over ₹50 Crore in DPDPA Compliance Initiative

Canara Bank has reportedly committed more than ₹50 crore towards strengthening compliance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA), 2023.

A ₹52.19 crore contract was awarded for the supply, installation, integration, implementation and management of a Digital Personal Data Protection solution for Canara Bank.

The reported contract is for a period of three years.
6. PhonePe Launches Visa Tokenisation and Tap to Pay

PhonePe and Visa announced a strategic partnership at the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 in Mumbai.

PhonePe became the first app in India to offer a unified suite of Visa capabilities comprising Online Device Tokenisation, Tap to Pay and Cross Border Scan to Pay.

Tap to Pay enables eligible Android users to tokenise their Visa cards and make contactless payments at POS terminals using their smartphones.
7. UIDAI Launches Aadhaar Face Authentication SDK and Sandbox

UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) launched a new Aadhaar Face Authentication Software Development Kit (SDK) in September 2026 to facilitate secure digital onboarding.

The SDK is particularly aimed at banks, fintech companies and other BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) entities.

UIDAI introduced a Sandbox environment to help organisations test Aadhaar authentication services before deployment.
8. Sheetal Devi Wins Gold at World Archery Para Series
