1. Rajasthan’s Shekhawati Havelis Added to UNESCO Tentative List
  • UNESCO has added the “Painted Haveli Towns of Shekhawati” of Rajasthan to India’s Tentative List of World Heritage Sites.
  • The nomination falls under the Cultural category of UNESCO World Heritage nominations.
  • Inclusion in the Tentative List does not mean that Shekhawati has already received final UNESCO World Heritage Site status.

  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has granted Scheduled Bank status to Coastal Local Area Bank Limited.
  • RBI included the bank in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934.
  • The bank is headquartered in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
5. Macron Urges EU Ban on Social Media for Under-15s
  • French President Emmanuel Macron has urged the European Union to introduce a bloc-wide ban on social media for children under 15 years of age.
  • France had previously attempted to introduce national restrictions on social-media access for children under 15.
  • His proposal has been influenced by the approach adopted by Australia toward social-media access for minors.
6. ADB Signs First TAS Mandate in India with Madhya Pradesh
  • The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed its first Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) mandate in India with the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
  • ADB Country Director for India Mio Oka signed the agreement in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.
  • ADB will provide transaction-advisory support for three renewable-energy projects.

  • Llorente was part of Spain's squad that won the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
  • Spain defeated Argentina 1–0 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
  • Llorente was part of Spain's squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
8. Former CJI Justice Dipak Misra Conferred with Kalinga Ratna Award
  • Former 45th Chief Justice of India (CJI), Justice Dipak Misra, has been conferred with the prestigious Kalinga Ratna Award 2026.
  • The award was presented in Cuttack, Odisha.
  • The honour was conferred by Sarala Sahitya Sansad, a prominent literary organisation of Odisha.
