1. Joheirry Mola Dominguez is Miss World 2026

Joheirry Mola Dominguez of the Dominican Republic was crowned Miss World 2026 at the 73rd Miss World pageant held in Nha Trang, Vietnam.

She defeated contestants from 110 countries, while Elisabeth Reynés Alabern of Spain was the first runner-up and Taanusiya Chetty of Malaysia was the second runner-up.

Her victory gave the Dominican Republic its second Miss World crown, after Mariasela Álvarez won in 1982.

Lucknow topped the Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan 2026 among cities with a population of more than 10 lakh.

7. Agnikul Cosmos Opens New Testing Units in Chennai

Chennai-based space-tech startup Agnikul Cosmos inaugurated two new facilities: Stage Testing & Inspection Facility (STIF) and Pressurant Tank Realisation, Over-wrapping and Outfitting Facility (PROOF).

STIF can test complete rocket stages with integrated propulsion and avionics, supporting thrust levels from 1 kN to 200 kN.

PROOF will support the in-house manufacturing of high-pressure composite overwrapped pressure vessels.
8. Astrogate Labs to Put India’s First Indigenous Optical Inter-Satellite Link in Orbit

Indian deep-tech company Astrogate Labs is developing India’s first indigenous Optical Inter-Satellite Link (OISL) terminal.

Its AstroLink Micro laser communication terminal offers a data rate of 10 Gbps, with flight readiness targeted for 2027.

The company has already supplied an indigenous satellite-to-ground laser communication terminal to ISRO, strengthening India’s space-communication capabilities.
