1. India ranked 48th in Global Aviation Safety Rankings 2022
  • India, according to DGCA officials, has moved up to position 48 in the International Civil Aviation Organization’s evaluation of the world’s aviation safety (ICAO). The nation held the 102nd place ranking four years ago.
  • Singapore is at the top of the list, followed by the UAE and South Korea in second and third place, respectively. China is in position 49. An ICAO Coordinated Validation Mission (ICVM) was carried out from November 9 to November 16 as part of its Continuous Monitoring Approach for its Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP). According to the officials, the nation now has an effective implementation score of 85.49 percent for critical safety components.
2. International Cheetah Day and Wildlife Conservation Day celebrated at National Zoological Park
  • The National Zoological Park, New Delhi (Delhi Zoo) celebrated “International Cheetah Day” and “Wildlife Conservation Day” in collaboration with Central Zoo Authority. The purpose behind the celebration of “International Cheetah Day” and “Wildlife Conservation Day” is to spread awareness among present generation about the Wildlife Conservation.
  • To create awareness on the celebration of these days, a team from National Zoological Park and Central Zoo Authority visited and interacted with 175 Divyang school students of Jormal Periwal Memorial Senior Secondary School for Blind, New Delhi. All Divyang school students took part in the Wildlife Conservation Pledge.
3. India is set to become the first country ever to receive $100 billion a year in remittances
  • India will be the first country in the world to receive $100 billion from remittances during 2022, the World Bank has said. Though remittances to the rest of the South Asian countries declined by 10%, it rose by 12% in India’s case.
  • Remittances to South Asian countries grew by 3.5% to $163 billion in 2022.Worldwide, remittances are estimated at $794 billion in 2022. South Asia receives the most remittances that are estimated at $163 billion in 2022.

4. Nagpur Metro creates record for world's longest double-decker viaduct
  • Nagpur Metro in Maharashtra has entered Guinness Book of World Records for creating the longest double-decker viaduct metro measuring 3.14 km on Wardha Road.Maha Metro MD Brijesh Dixit received a certificate for the achievement from judge and adjudicator of Guinness World Records Rishi Nath at an event at Metro Bhawan.
  • The double-decker viaduct has already been certified as the longest structure in Asia and India by Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records respectively.
5. Cristiano Ronaldo signs 200-million euro contract with Saudi club Al-Nassr
  • Famous Footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo has sensationally joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr on a two and a half year deal worth 200 million euros per season.
  • Earlier, Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes had spoken to a number of clubs including European giants like Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, etc., but no one showed any serious interest in the 37-year-old forward.

6. Canara Bank wins 'Banker's Bank of the Year Award 2022' for India
  • Canara Bank announced that it has won the "Banker's Bank of the Year Award 2022" for the Indian segment of the Global Banking Summit.The event took place in London from November 29 to December 1, 2022 and L V Prabhakar, the bank's MD and CEO, accepted the award from the organiers, the bank said.
  • The Bankers’ Bank of the Year Award is considered to be like Oscar award for the banking sector and the winners are judged on their ability to deliver returns, strategy, innovation, technology and product and services in their respective geographies in the last 12 months.

7. Indian tech brand Noise appoints Virat Kohli as new brand ambassador

  • 'Brave Hearts of Bharat, Vignettes from Indian History' by Vikram Sampath (Penguin), an anthology of 15 stories of men and women and their indomitable spirit of freedom and courage, was launched in the national capital on November 25, 2022.
  • Rajeev Chandrashekhar, Minister for State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Electronics and Information Technology, was the chief guest on the occasion, and Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, ICCR President, Government of India, and Rajya Sabha MP was the guest of honour.
9. Shooter Rudrankksh Patil clinches ISSF President’s Cup in Egypt
  • Indian shooter Rudrankksh Patil has clinched the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) President’s Cup held in Cairo, Egypt. He defeated Italy’s Danilo Sollazzo in the 10-metre rifle play-off by 16-8.
  • Athletes from 42 nations representing 43 ISSF Member Federations from all continents are taking part in this competition. 18-year-old Rudrankksh Patil also bagged India’s first quota for the 2024 Paris Olympics, when he clinched a gold in the men’s 10-metre air rifle in the ISSF Rifle-Pistol World Championships 2022 also held in Cairo in October this year.

10. Rohit Sharma breaks Mohammad Azharuddin's record to become India's sixth-leading run scorer in ODIs
  • Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has surpassed former batter Mohammed Azharuddin to become the sixth-highest run-getter for his country in ODI cricket. The batter accomplished this record during India’s first ODI against Bangladesh at Dhaka.
  • With this, his ODI statistics stand at 234 matches, and 9,403 runs in 227 innings at an average of 48.46. He has scored 29 tons and 45 fifties in his ODI career, with the best individual score of 264, which is also the highest score ever in ODIs.
