1. Country’s first road safety training, research institute to come up in Pune

Maharashtra is setting up India's first Road Safety Training and Research Institute at Saswad, Purandar Taluka, Pune district.

The project consists of three major facilities: Automated Testing Station (ATS), Automated Driving Testing Track (ADTT) and Road Safety Training and Research Institute.

The project is being developed on approximately 25 acres of land.
2. Sikkim’s Soreng Becomes India’s First Organic Fisheries Cluster

Soreng district of Sikkim has been notified as India's first Organic Fisheries Cluster under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).

3. Tamil Nadu tops in research publications on Niti Aayog's S&T scoreboard

Manipur hosted the 1st North East Waree Leeba Festival 2026 at Irom MeijraoMamang Community Hall in Imphal West district.

Waree Leeba is a traditional oral storytelling art form associated with the Meitei community of Manipur.

The festival received support from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, under the Cultural Function and Production Grant (CFPG) Scheme.
5. RBI Conducts ₹50,000 Crore Overnight VRRR Auction

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) conducted an overnight Variable Rate Reverse Repo (VRRR) auction under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF).

Under the VRRR mechanism, banks park their surplus funds with RBI for a specified period and receive interest at a variable rate determined through the auction.

VRRR is a liquidity absorption tool used by RBI to manage short-term liquidity conditions in the banking system.
