4. NPCI and ACLEDA Bank Partner to Bring UPI Payments to Cambodia

Expanded Reach for Indian Travelers: In the first phase of the partnership, Indian tourists can now make seamless, real-time QR-based payments at over 4.5 million merchant outlets across Cambodia, including retail stores, restaurants, and tourist attractions, using their familiar UPI-enabled mobile applications.

Two-Way Interoperability: While the initial phase focuses on Indian travelers in Cambodia, the initiative is designed as a two-way corridor. A future phase will allow Cambodian citizens visiting India to use their domestic banking and payment applications to scan and pay at millions of UPI-enabled merchant locations across India.

Growing Global Footprint: Cambodia becomes the ninth country to adopt UPI services.
