1. Punjab launches ‘Pehchaan’ portal to identify unclaimed, unidentified bodies

Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh launched the ‘Pehchaan’ portal in Chandigarh.
-
Punjab has become the first state in India to launch a statewide public digital portal for identification of unknown and unclaimed deceased persons.
-
The portal has been built on MedLEaPR, Punjab’s digital medico-legal software developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC).
2. Gollala Gudi Temple Gets National Monument Status

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has notified Gollala Gudi at Palampet, Mulugu district, Telangana, as a Monument of National Importance.

It is situated on the south-western side of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Kakatiya Rudreshwara (Ramappa) Temple.

The temple is a Trikutalaya, meaning a temple with three sanctums (garbhagrihas). The central sanctum houses a Shiva Lingam.
3. VP C. P. Radhakrishnan Releases ‘Mission Rangeen Machhli 2031

Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan released the ‘Mission Rangeen Machhli 2031’ Strategic Action Plan for Ornamental Fisheries Developmentin Lakshadweep.

The programme was organised by the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India.

Fisheries development projects worth over ₹62 crore have been approved for Lakshadweep under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).
4. Retired Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra Named Ram Temple Trust CEO

Retired Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra has been appointed the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

The appointment was announced following a meeting of the Trust in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

Mishra previously served as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Western Air Command (WAC) and played a significant role in Operation Sindoor while heading the command.
5. LIC Launches Two Non-Linked Insurance Plans ‘Bima Platinum’ and ‘Jeevan Raksha’

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) launched two new non-linked insurance plans on the occasion of its 70th anniversary.

LIC’s Bima Platinum (Plan 770) is a savings and protection plan with a minimum sum assured of ₹3 lakh, maturity benefits, and guaranteed additions of ₹70 per ₹1,000 of annual premium.

LIC’s Jeevan Raksha (Plan 894) is a pure-risk term insurance plan with a minimum sum assured of ₹5 lakh, a maximum sum assured of ₹24 lakh, and no maturity or survival benefit.
6. Vodafone Idea onboards Shah Rukh Khan as brand ambassador

Vodafone Idea (Vi) has onboarded Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan as the face of its upcoming brand campaign.

The campaign featuring Shah Rukh Khan is titled “Vi badal raha hai... tayaar rahiye”.

Abhijit Kishore is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vodafone Idea.
7. Aero India 2027 to be held in Bengaluru

The 16th edition of Aero India will be held in 2027 at Air Force Station, Yelahanka, Bengaluru, Karnataka.

The event is organised by the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence.

Aero India is Asia’s largest air show and one of the world’s premier aerospace and defence exhibitions.
8. India to Host Inaugural Women’s Champions Trophy 2027

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that India will host the inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy 2027.

The two venues are Cricket Club of India (CCI), Mumbai, and Vadodara International Cricket Stadium, Kotambi, Vadodara, Gujarat.

The participating teams are Australia, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka.
