1. John Ternus Becomes New CEO of Apple

John Ternus officially became the CEO of Apple, succeeding Tim Cook.

Apple was founded on 1 April 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2026.

Apple’s headquarters, Apple Park, is located in Cupertino, California, USA.
2. Bihar & Jharkhand Sign Agreement on Sone River Water Sharing

The agreement was signed in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

The Sone River is an important right-bank tributary of the Ganga and is an important source of irrigation in eastern India.
-
The river originates near Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh and flows through Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar before joining the Ganga.
3. MoCA Launches Hub & Spoke International Flight Operations from Ahmedabad

The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) launched Hub & Spoke International Flight Operations from Ahmedabad in Gujarat.

Ahmedabad became the third spoke airport integrated into India's International Aviation Hub Strategy.

Earlier, Varanasi joined the framework on 25 June 2026, followed by Amritsar on 28 July 2026.
4. Türkiye Joins NASA's Artemis Accords

Türkiye became the 71st signatory to the NASA-led Artemis Accords. India signed the Artemis Accords on 21 June 2023.

The signing ceremony was held at NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

The Artemis Accords, established in 2020 by NASA and the U.S. Department of State, provide principles for peaceful, transparent and responsible exploration of the Moon, Mars and beyond.
5. RBI Appoints Suman Ray as Executive Director

As Executive Director, Suman Ray will oversee the Deposit Insurance & Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) and the Premises Department.

The DICGC is responsible for providing deposit insurance to eligible bank depositors and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the RBI.

Before his elevation, Suman Ray was serving as Regional Director for Maharashtra at the RBI.
6. India Post Payments Bank Celebrates 9th Foundation Day

IPPB was launched on 1 September 2018.It operates under the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications.

IPPB is 100% owned by the Government of India.

Econz IT Services, in collaboration with Google Cloud, launched Bengaluru's first dedicated Gemini Enterprise Experience Centre is located in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

The centre provides enterprises with an environment to experience, build, test and deploy Agentic AI solutions powered by Gemini Enterprise.

The launch coincided with the inauguration of Econz IT Services' new Bengaluru office.
8. Germany & Argentina Win Men's & Women's FIH Hockey World Cup 2026

The 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup was jointly hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands.

Germany won the Men’s FIH Hockey World Cup 2026, defeating Spain in the final in Wavre, Belgium.

Argentina won the Women’s FIH Hockey World Cup 2026, defeating the Netherlands in the final.
