1. Donald Trump and First Lady Melania trump tests positive for COVID-19

Bad Karma has struck mightily. US President Donald
Trump, who for months dismissed and downplayed the coronavirus pandemic, and who sneered and smeared everyone who promoted mitigation measures to combat the disease and tempted fate with close contact political rallies and meetings, has tested positive for the disease.

The news was shared by the US President through his official Twitter account. He also informed that they both will begin their quarantine and recovery process immediately.

Donald Trump had also shared the news about his advisor Hope Hicks testing positive for the virus after which both the President and the first lady had also undergone the COVID-19 test.

2. On Mahatma Gandhi's 151st birth anniversary, President Kovind and Prime Minster Modi pay homage to Father of the Nation at Rajghat

Modi on Friday paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation, on his 151st birth anniversary at Rajghat in Delhi.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on 2 October 1869 in Porbandar.

On 12 March 1930, Gandhi launched the Civil disobedience Movement by marching to Dandi from Ahmedabad.He launched the Quit India Movement in 1942 in which Gandhi gave the slogan of ‘Do or Die'.
3. President, Vice President, PM pay tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary

President, Vice President and Prime Minister today paid
tributes to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his 116th birth anniversary.

In a tweet, President Ram Nath Kovind said, a great son of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri served the nation with exceptional dedication. He said, Lal Bahadur Shastri's fundamental role in the Green Revolution, the White Revolution and wartime leadership continue to inspire the nation.

He led the country during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1965. His slogan of "Jai Jawan Jai Kisan" ("Hail the soldier, Hail the farmer") became very popular during the war.The war formally ended with the Tashkent Agreement on 10 January 1966; he died the following day, still in Tashkent.
4. PM Modi to inaugurate world's longest highway tunnel at Rohtang on October 3

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the
strategically important all-weather Atal Tunnel, which reduces the distance between Manali and Leh by 46 km and the travel time by four to five hours, at Rohtang in Himachal Pradesh. Modi will also attend public functions at Sissu in Lahaul Spiti and at Solang Valley.

The 9.02km long tunnel will connect Manali with Lahaul-Spiti valley throughout the year. Earlier, the valley was cut off for almost six months each year due to heavy snowfall.

The tunnel has been built using ultra-modern specifications in the Pir Panjal range of Himalayas at an altitude of 3000m from the Mean Sea Level. It reduces the road distance by 46 km between Manali and Leh and time by about 4-5 hours.

5. Alyssa Healy breaks MS Dhoni's wicketkeeping record in T20Is

Australian woman cricketer and wicketkeeper, Alyssa
Healy broke the record of "Most Dismissal by Wicket Keeper" by MS Dhoni's who made 91 dismissals in 98 T20 Internationals(T20Is) for India.

Healy has played 114 T20Is for Australia and broke the record with 92 dismissals in the shortest format of the game during the match against New Zealand in the 2nd T20I of the three-match series at Allan Border Field at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
6. Sourav Ganguly become new brand ambassador of Bengal Peerless

7. NCRB Data: Mumbai Ranks 2nd after Delhi in Crime Against Women

According to the latest data released by the National
Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Mumbai recorded 6,519 cases, after national capital Delhi at 12,902 cases during the year 2019. However, there has been a drop of 1.5 per cent in crimes in Maharashtra.

In 2019, the state recorded 3.41 lakh cases, down from 3.46 lakh in the previous year.The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data has revealed that overall the crime cases against women in Mumbai in last two years have been 6,058 and 5,453 respectively.

Mumbai also has the highest number of sexual harassment incidents on public transport and recorded the highest number of cases for use of children in pornography. The financial capital also ranked third on the list of rape cases after Delhi and Jaipur.

8. BSE joins hands with Yes Bank to empower SMEs

Leading stock exchange BSE said it has signed a pact
with private sector lender Yes Bank to empower the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) listed on the platform. The pact aims at empowering the SME segment through awareness and knowledge-sharing programmes.

As per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), BSE and Yes Bank will conduct knowledge events for SMEs, export promotion of SMEs, in addition to providing banking and financial solutions.

The bank will also offer customised services and products to the listed SME members of the platform.

9. GRSE’s Indian Coast Guard Fast Patrol Vessel ICGS 'Kanaklata Barua' commissioned in Kolkata

Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) ICGS 'Kanaklata Barua' of the
Indian Coast Guard was commissioned at the Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd.

ICGS Kanaklata Barua is one of the five FPVs built by GRSE, the Defence Public Sector Undertaking, for the Indian Coast Guard and it was delivered on June 9.The FPVs are medium-range surface vessels with a length of 50 metres, width of 7.5 metres and displacement of around 308 tonnes.

The vessels are designed for a maximum speed of 34 knots with an endurance of more than 1,500 nautical miles.The entire design of the FPVs has been developed in- house by GRSE as per requirements specified by the Indian Coast Guard.

10. DRDO successfully test fires laser-guided anti-tank missile

The indigenously developed Laser Guided Anti Tank
Guided Missile, ATGM was successfully test fired defeating a target located at longer range.

The test was conducted from MBT Arjun at KK ranges, Armoured Corps Centre and School Ahmednagar in continuation of a successful trial done on 22nd of last month. The ATGM employs a tandem HEAT warhead to defeat Explosive Reactive Armour protected armoured vehicles in ranges from 1.5 to 5 kilometres. It has been developed with multiple-platform launch capability and is currently undergoing technical evaluation trials from 120 mm rifled gun of MBT Arjun.

This Laser Guided Missile has been developed by Armament Research and Development Establishment, Pune in association with High Energy Materials Research Laboratory, Pune and Instruments Research and Development Establishment, Dehradun.
