The Central Bank of India (CBI) has released a detailed notification announcing a total of 4500 vacancies for the post of Apprentice for a period of 12 months. The graduate candidates who fulfill the required eligibility criteria can now start submitting their application form online at the bank’s official website www.centralbank.bank.in, as the online application process has started from 12th June 2026 onwards. Candidates willing to apply for the post must go through this article for complete details.

Educational Qualification, Age Limit & Nationality
Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility requirements as on 31 May 2026:
Educational Qualification
  • Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Candidates must have completed graduation on or after 1 January 2022.
  • Candidates with one year or more of work/training experience after graduation are not eligible
Nationality
Applicants must be:
  • Citizens of India, or
  • Subjects of Nepal/Bhutan, or
  • Eligible persons as specified by the Government of India.
Age Limit
Candidates should be born between 31 May 1998 and 31 May 2006 (both dates inclusive).
  • Minimum Age: 20 Years
  • Maximum Age: 28 Years
Age Relaxation
  • SC/ST: 5 Years
  • OBC (NCL): 3 Years
  • PwBD: Up to 10-15 Years as per government norms

Apprenticeship Period and Stipend
During the training period, apprentices will receive a fixed monthly stipend and will be governed by the terms and conditions prescribed by the bank and the Apprentices Act, 1961.
Training Duration: The apprenticeship period will be 12 months.
Monthly Stipend: Selected apprentices will receive a stipend of ₹15,000 per month.
Other Conditions
  • No additional allowances will be provided.
  • Apprentices will not be eligible for overtime.
  • One casual leave per month will be allowed.
  • Completion of apprenticeship does not guarantee permanent employment in the bank.

Local Language Test
Candidates qualifying the online examination must demonstrate proficiency in the local language of the state they have applied for. Those who studied the local language in Class 10th or 12th are exempted from the test.
