96th Academy Awards: Oscars 2024 Winners
The 96th Academy Awards, held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, celebrated the best in cinema for the year 2024. “Oppenheimer” emerged as the night’s biggest winner, taking home seven Oscars, including the coveted Best Picture award. Christopher Nolan’s biographical film about the inventor of the atomic bomb also earned the director his first Best Director Oscar.
The Malayalam film “Everyone is a Hero” (2023), which was chosen as India’s official entry for the International Feature Film category at the 2024 Academy Awards, has been eliminated from the Oscars race. Despite being the country’s representative, the film did not make it to the final shortlist of nominations in that category.
